@Mr_Derivatives

According to Michael Burry’s Substack today he bought $NVDA calls to hedge out his longer term $NVDA bearish position. So even he thinks 4 straight red ER reactions that we are due for a bounce, albeit temporarily. Fascinating. Not saying he is wrong, hell I probably would have done the same.

@Mr_Derivatives Always tough on earnings day with $NVDA. They can't just smash expectations, they have to crush the whispers too.

@Mr_Derivatives Burry must not have studied how nvda stock has reacted to its last 4 earnings

@Mr_Derivatives $NVDA reports today with Q2 revenue expected around $92.2B, and the real hurdle is Q3 guidance near $103B as investors look for evidence that AI demand is still accelerating. Our analysis: x.com/NextFinAI/status/2092690…

@Mr_Derivatives 97% revenue growth would be insane number to beat given it’s already staggering growth but I guess anything is possible

@Mr_Derivatives Smart hedge

@Mr_Derivatives A hedge isn't a change of mind. Buying calls against a short is how you survive a big jump long enough for your view to play out. Most bearish bets don't fail because they were wrong. They fail because the trader ran out of room before being right.

@Mr_Derivatives Given what I would anticipate the size of his $NVDA short position not a bad idea & insurance policy if $NVDA blows out guidance and gaps up. Burry's best case is $NVDA goes lower, the short position is working & calls are worthless.

mr stock holm @stocks_holm ·

@Mr_Derivatives This might be a close one. I think however the guide will be good given the price hike.

@Mr_Derivatives yeah, that’s a pretty clean tell on positioning vs thesis. If Burry is hedging the short book with calls into the 4th red ER setup, he’s basically saying the bear case can be right and still get run over short term.

Amelia Parker @ejfrmyard ·

@Mr_Derivatives Even Burry is hedging the bounce. At this point the only people still pure short are the ones who enjoy pain.

ReversionDesk @ReversionDesk · D

@Mr_Derivatives how about a bounce which will fade in tomorrow’s session

@Mr_Derivatives How can you not be bullish $NVDA ✅

Nando2x @Nando2xs · D

@Mr_Derivatives This seems like a bad move by Burry. NVDA is going to get absolutely crushed the next couple of weeks, the right move would have been to double down. @michaeljburry

Mr. May | Edge Trader @TradeVelocityX · D

Buying $NVDA calls as a hedge is not a reversal of Burry’s bearish thesis—it is recognition of serious near-term upside risk. After four consecutive red earnings reactions, a relief bounce may be due. The real test is whether $NVDA can hold its gains after the initial volatility settles. Mr. May.

@Mr_Derivatives It is actually standard practice when you want to supress earnings volatily but comming from Burry it is "big news"

@Mr_Derivatives so what if Nvidia sold off the last 4 earnings release? the price is within 12.5% of ATH and the stock price is up over 12% this year. what bounce are you talking about?

@Mr_Derivatives He buys stocks with very poor performance, and he is shorting and losing tons of money , he never lost how much money he loose , and he makes a tons of money charging 49$ per month , if anyone follows him is losing money too

Relax_to_Rich @R2R_Capital · D

@Mr_Derivatives Smart hedge, not a signal. Bounce possible, but long-term still about fundamentals.
