Here’s a quote I once a year need to tweet out as a reminder: “NO ONE EVER WENT BROKE BY TAKING A PROFIT.” A win is a win. A gain is a gain. You missed it or you sold too early? So be it. FOMO can be a NONO. Can always get back in at the next pit stop if you must. Or just go on the next opportunity. Because there is ALWAYS opportunities around the corner…

@Mr_Derivatives Taking profit is not the mistake. Letting FOMO turn a planned exit into an impulsive re-entry is. Before opening a position, define what invalidates it, where you scale out, and how long you will wait before reassessing. A plan beats regret.

I actually disagree with “No one ever went broke taking profits.” Traders absolutely can go broke taking profits too early. If you consistently cut winners short while letting losers hit full stops, the math eventually catches up with you. A high win rate means very little if your average winner is tiny compared to your average loser. That’s one reason traders can get into trouble with strategies like credit spreads: you can be right a lot and still lose money if the reward/risk is poor.

@Mr_Derivatives 我上次卖飞比亚迪也是这么安慰自己的,结果看它翻倍愣是没敢追回来,但转头买了别的也赚了,心态放平比啥都强

@Mr_Derivatives It’s always the tax bill that comes with it that hurts the most. They never talk about that on cnbc. All barbells and bullshit

@Mr_Derivatives True! no one ever went broke by taking a profit. But a few nearly had heart attacks from taking it too early… then watching the stock keep climbing without them. 😅

@Mr_Derivatives Sell, and then regret it.

@Mr_Derivatives Took my own advice today and locked in gains early—stings a bit, but sleeping better beats chasing ghosts. My morning take on the group leadership into the session → thelevelsdaily.com/t/tier1-v1-…

@Mr_Derivatives Still true no matter how many times the market tries to convince me otherwise. My outlook on the overall market so far today → largecapbrief.com/t/tier1-v1-2…

@Mr_Derivatives I honestly disagree with this one. If you are a trader who always cuts profits early, your RR gets ruined, meaning the risk you're taking on doesn't make sense for the reward you get out of it. Eventually, your losers will outweigh your winners.
