This chart shows another Gnosis fumble: Gnosis was early to non custodial neobank meta with EURe for payments. But majority of users and most notably @mzeller had to leave it. Gnosis had pioneered Prediction markets already in 2019 (Gnosis Olympia) They were early to Stablecoin chain meta too(xDAI) with DAI for gas. The Gnosis DAO even experiments with futarchy voting (where potential future price post-vote helps decision making) Thankfully Gnosis Safe and CoW ended up successful spinoffs. So Gnosis does have great ideas but sometimes needs to push it a few miles further until the market catches up.

@DefiIgnas @mzeller the through line is distribution, not ideas. gnosis keeps shipping the right primitive then treats go to market as someone else's problem. safe and cow worked precisely because they spun out and chased users instead of waiting for the market to arrive

@DefiIgnas @mzeller I guess other stablecoin card projects still have to prove they can grow in the absence of incentivized cash back programs. It seems like once gnosis stopped paying people, the growth flatlined, which makes sense as at least in Europe, there isn’t a big benefit in crypto cards.

@DefiIgnas @mzeller They are the IBM of blockchains, unfortunately. It' sad because they have an amazing team. I'd love for it to build more great stuff on an app-level agnostic of the chain
