@amitisinvesting Berkshire only repurchases when the board believes the price is below intrinsic value. Roughly two years of nothing, then $235m in Q1, then $4.5B in Q2. Management clearly believes the stock to be very cheap.

@amitisinvesting Incorrect, Abel/Buffet bought back 24 Billion of their own stock. Buffet only buys when BRK is at a discount. I am not a 'smart man' (Forest G), so I just follow the leader. Stupid, isn't it?😁 (I predict at least +20% in the short term)

GCP is so very quickly becoming Google’s second profit center. As of June 30, 2025, Cloud represented 7.8% of Alphabet’s Operating income, and now is 18.2%. Its worth noting that Google Services OpIncm increased from $33B➡️$39.5B/19% YoY, so the core business isn’t anywhere near stagnant either. $GOOG

@Kolby_Smith @amitisinvesting The opposite - if you're holding forever, you want to get as much ownership as possible for the least amount of money. Because the compounding will be that much greater in the out years. This is why I cost basis optimize.

May Kohnouri @VisionaryGem ·

@P_Jain0 @SayNoToTrading @amitisinvesting Don’t overthink every buy or sell. Berkshire looks at value, future returns, taxes, and risk not just whether a stock is a good company

Church's Biscuits @sdogg011235 ·

@AustinsStocks @amitisinvesting @WisemanCap People simply don't appreciate the amount of infrastructure it takes to be the front page of the internet. Sure, OAI and Ant can make browsers. They won't be as fast & or be connected to Gsuite/ YouTube, i.e. they won't be as profitable meaning they won't last (see openai Atlas)

1
Boris Gligorijevic @BorisZR ·

@amitisinvesting @SayNoToTrading They have never been good at timing. But where they have been amazing is the longer-term. Sounds like a hack, buy what Berkshire is buying, but at slightly cheaper prices (since their timing sucks)?

Peace @PeaceTee2021 ·

@amitisinvesting @SayNoToTrading The can’t move as fast as you can. But when they do their conviction is much better than yours. Also they are looking for 10-16% yearly return long term, you are looking for 50% overnight only to lose 50% overnight or selling low and buying high. Games are different

@toyotafanboi @WisemanCap @amitisinvesting What? FPE is about equal to growth rate. It's literally the opposite of TSLA.

2 2
SZ @toyotafanboi ·

@Sunrise202086 @WisemanCap @amitisinvesting If Google doesn't "find a way" to make it "so cheap", when the music stops and the unprofitable Anthropic and OAI can't raise investor money anymore, guess what happens to fwd PE. Saying "Google will find a way!" is beyond speculative.

@O_Forreta @SayNoToTrading @amitisinvesting Good point, I never thought about that. Capital allocation and Opportunity cost, are these new concepts or why do you think Warren hasn’t learned about them?

1
Kolby Smith @Kolby_Smith ·

Compounding has nothing to do with what you paid. It's the ROIC times the reinvestment rate. Entry price is a one time scalar. The compounding rate is an exponent on time. Divide a scalar by 30 years and it rounds to nothing. Run an exponent for 30 years and it's the entire return. I highly doubt he looks back on Coke in 1988 and wishes he got it a bit cheaper, but rather glad he owns it and it pays him $816m/year. Pay less when you can. But paying less doesn't make it compound greater. It just gives you more shares of the same thing.
