so in July we LOST 23K jobs vs expectations of adding 83K jobs for nonfarm payrolls we also revised June's numbers down by 37K jobs the chance of a rate hike in september just went from 60% to 40% and $SPX is up +0.5% in the premarket 10yr down to 4.6% anything that helps inflation come down...the market loves

@amitisinvesting @grok what is the total number of nonfarm payrolls? An 83k in crease would have been what percent growth?

LongBull @LongBullz ·

@amitisinvesting Soft jobs print: -23K vs +83K expected, June revised -37K → September hike odds plunge to ~40% as 10yr hits 4.6% and SPX pops 😭

@amitisinvesting Jobs down -23k but unemployment is down to 4.1%?? Was either seasonality or outright elimination of some jobs, which is unlikely unless....schools have closed or FIFA jobs are not coming back, or both? But the media will blame it on the war, policies, etc. Damn the logic.

@amitisinvesting "Anything that helps" perfectly sums up the mood while the labor market quietly falls apart. We're literally cheering job losses because it means the Fed blinks first Wake me when good news is good news again

@amitisinvesting There will be no rate hikes. That is a wet dream for tradfi boomer doomers who missed the entire AI run.

@amitisinvesting Wow. They’re always revising down prior month’s numbers. I bet July’s will be revised down even further next month. Fake the numbers. Juice the market. Revise down later when it won’t have much of an impact. Everything is fake and gay.

@amitisinvesting And yet the market cheers bad news — rate cuts are the only fuel that matters now. x.com/i/grok/share/df177d526d5…

@amitisinvesting Worth saying out loud that 40% is still odds of a hike. Nobody is pricing a cut here.

@amitisinvesting market cheering bad jobs data because it means lower rates is the most 2026 thing possible. bad news is good news again

2
Pe Erre 2024 @2024Pe ·

@amitisinvesting The Fed is managing a 2026 economy with a framework built for a different era. AI, automation, tariffs, energy shocks and geopolitics are reshaping jobs, inflation and growth. Rates can cool demand, but can’t fix supply shocks. The data matter. The interpretation must evolve.

tsk @tskaerobot ·

@amitisinvesting Anecdotally speaking here, it is the worst job market since 2008.

3
bob_prestyly @bob_prestyly ·

@amitisinvesting July’s jobs report was a major miss, with 23K jobs lost versus expectations of an 83K gain. June was revised lower too. The market likes the chance of lower rates, but the weak hiring numbers are a warning sign that the economy may be slowing.

Seth Antiles @AntilesSeth ·

@amitisinvesting It’s still early in the day, the cash market has not even opened yet, too soon to say what the market loves today.

1
Allens Stock Insight @BrianReid11BR ·

@amitisinvesting Nice catch. -23K vs +83K expected + June -37K revision = pure soft data. Markets right to price Sep hike odds down to 40%. SPX loves it.

Julian @JulianC001 ·

Mohamed El‑Erian put out an important and related piece this morning — misreading the Fed. It’s critically important. The narrative around the Fed needs to be corrected. CNBC, and Steve Liesman specifically are going out of their way to discredit Fed Chair, Warsh. Mohamed is doing a great job at setting the record straight.

@amitisinvesting Companies should be pressured to hire by the govt if we ever want to fix this economy otherwise inflation will continue to go up

@amitisinvesting Classic bad news is good news logic

Azimuth @AzimuthMarkets ·

@amitisinvesting The first move is “bad jobs = easier Fed.” The more important question is whether the second move becomes “bad jobs = weaker growth.”

jsnode @thejsnode ·

@amitisinvesting Interesting data! It seems like the job market is shifting, which could definitely impact the Fed's decisions.
