As an engineer: Unemployment is insignificant to me compared to the waste of knowledge. Knowledge is the need that necessitates recruitment. Just by going to LinkedIn and browsing through many companies, you'll find staggering numbers of foreigners, in specializations that any Saudi graduate could work in after training. Major national projects are being implemented by foreign engineers and technicians. Saudi participation in the implementation is a million times more important than employing them in an institution for a monthly salary where they don't even actually work. The knowledge they gain represents a true investment in human capital. I wish the Jadarat platform would be shut down and employment transferred to the Qiwa platform, linking any visa application to the training of a Saudi employee to replace the foreigner after a year, especially in large companies that receive major government contracts. It's laughable that some people are calling for the retirement of government employees to create jobs for young people, unaware that there are foreigners whose service in Saudi Arabia exceeds that of retirees.
