Follow-up to previous post: The yield on 10-year US Treasuries is soaring rapidly. It’s not just the numbers themselves that are alarming, but the sheer pace of this rise.📉 What do the statistics tell us?Over the past 50 years, there have been 16 instances of such sharp yield spikes. Almost every single one was followed by financial turmoil—from the 1987 stock market crash and the dot-com bubble to the subprime mortgage crisis and the collapse of SVB in 2023.💥 Where could it "blow up" this time?Often, the true trigger of a crisis only becomes obvious when it's already too late. However, analysts are already pinpointing the main risk zones:• Private credit market – an opaque and overheated sector• AI infrastructure and data centers – many massive construction projects are debt-financed, with some obligations not even reflected on corporate balance sheets• US regional banks – the benchmark ETF for the sector (KRE) is already down nearly 10% from its recent high, teetering on the edge of a correction📊 What to do?If the US Treasury doesn't take radical measures soon, such as injecting liquidity to cool down rising yields, equities will face a severe correction, and the outlook for crypto is just as clear. As for the timing, it’s a guessing game: could be in a week, could be in 3 months.Personally, I lean toward the scenario where the US government steps in, because the alternative is ugly. Trump has an election right around the corner, and a downturn serves no one when things could instead be flush with liquidity 💰So, we wait and see.
