Would be good to have more discourse between app devs and authors on this, legit arguments in both directions

SGP-0003 will make Solana a worse home for applications. It is a highly opinionated proposal dressed up as neutral. It penalizes applications the author deems to be poor uses of blockspace. It is difficult to bet your business on a platform if the economics of the platform are subject to violent thrash. Even the fact that 0003 has made it this far is already damaging to Solana. To the other vibe economists out there—surely you should have some model for how demand will change when price increases by 10x, rather than blindly assuming burn = today's demand x tomorrow's price.

@KyleSamani 100%. Best would have been before voting ends in 5 days but now is second best. Validators directly* vote on this and probably don’t know the full impact to the major apps and platforms. *stakers can now override, but only if the validator casts their votes.

@KyleSamani there was a long SIMD discussion period, there was a long discussion with core dev teams before it got merged, and there was a long SGP discussion period. nobody came forth until it was time to vote.

@KyleSamani Our dApp/App teams love this SGP. I think it's genius. "EcOnOMiCs" my ass; if anyone gave a flip about or actually understood economics SGP-0002 and failed SIMD would never have been proposed. SPG-0003 accounts for one economic factor no other does. Supply and Demand.

i agree. i have asked several naysayers directly for feedback on how they would fix the proposal and they have not given me any constructive feedback. i have done my best to tweet about it every week for 3 months now. i even put up the SGP myself (not required! could have gone straight into agave!) so that we can actually have this discussion and vote on it. the only person that has given me any real input on it has been toly
