OpenGradient Co-Founder Alleges BitMart Insolvency as Funds Remain Frozen OpenGradient co-founder and CEO Matthew Wang said his market-making team has funds stuck on BitMart that it is unable to withdraw, alleging that the crypto exchange is insolvent. He also accused BitMart of asking token holders to lock assets on the platform roughly a week before announcing its shutdown, claiming the campaign was primarily aimed at attracting liquidity. The allegations have not been independently verified, and BitMart has not directly responded to Wang’s claims.

@WuBlockchain If that's true, locking assets before a shutdown is a huge red flag.

@WuBlockchain That’s very bad

⚠️ Serious allegations involving BitMart OpenGradient co-founder Matthew Wang claims his team's funds are currently stuck on BitMart and alleges the exchange may be insolvent. These claims have not been independently verified, and BitMart has not directly responded. Until more evidence emerges, this is a situation to watch closely — not jump to conclusions. 👀

@WuBlockchain watching the timing of that lockup campaign asking holders to lock right before shutdown is a clear signal

A stronger angle is the red flag around customer funds, not just the insolvency allegation If an exchange is struggling to process withdrawals while simultaneously encouraging users to lock up liquidity, the key question becomes when management knew there was a liquidity problem That distinction could turn this from an ordinary exchange shutdown into a serious trust and governance issue The insolvency claim itself remains unverified

@WuBlockchain My funds once got stuck on an exchange during a panic and I spent 48 hours staring at a spinning loading wheel like a ghost.

Coinminutes @coinminutes_en ·

@WuBlockchain This was to be expected, BitMart's liquidity is a major question mark, and users still have their funds trapped there x.com/coinminutes_en/status/20…

Anjli @AnjliAmin ·

@WuBlockchain The frozen funds aren't the tell, the week-before-shutdown push to lock user assets is. A balance on an exchange was never your money, just an unsecured claim on someone else's, and it only gets tested the day everyone wants out.

influflender @influflender ·

@WuBlockchain The practical check is simple. Can users withdraw? “Insolvent” is still an allegation, but blocked withdrawals deserve attention before anyone locks more funds.

@WuBlockchain My funds are stuck as well on Bitmart.

@WuBlockchain All cexes are going bankrupt because the owners are all chinease. Trust only dexes/self custody but even that can get hacked, nothing is safe in this scam market

Ali Sherief @Zenul_Abidin ·

@WuBlockchain Those Bitmart guys are going to get a lawsuit for sure.

Gregor @bygregorr ·

@WuBlockchain market makers catch it first because they're hitting withdrawal endpoints programmatically at volume all day. the tell isn't the hard freeze, it's confirmation times ballooning before that. saw it syncing exchange data hard blocks are already act two.

Jeepers Cryptos @cryptoethlzq · 11K

@WuBlockchain if true that’s a brutal way to trap liquidity right before shutting down makes you wonder how many other market makers are stuck in the same position
