first mover advantage feels so much stronger in crypto than in any other industry how many "killers" have actually killed the original? L1s, lending, dex, perps, launchpad it is actually super rare

@0xNairolf Thật ra thì cái gì ra trước mà đã tạo được network effect rồi thì khó đấm lại lắm, trừ khi mình tự phá chính mình thôi 😄

@0xNairolf It’s crazy how few challengers truly succeed in overtaking leaders.

@0xNairolf the real moat is liquidity and lindy once a protocol survives a few cycles it becomes the default

@0xNairolf which one came closest in your view? most got the timing right but the execution fell apart

@0xNairolf the original gets embedded everywhere before the killer even ships

GuruVerseX @GuruVerseX · 16K

@0xNairolf Liquidity compounds before rivals ship

@0xNairolf means most "killers" are just marketing noise the real moat is liquidity and lindy effect

Macro Bombastic @MacroBombastic · 10K

@0xNairolf first mover moats are real, liquidity just keeps compounding for them

Lock.com @madebylock ·

@0xNairolf yeah, first mover advantage is stronger here.

@0xNairolf It's so important , also because just because they aren't first movers but also good at getting the attention

@0xNairolf True but not in all cases. dydx - Hyperliquid

Lovanic @lovaniceth · 12K

@0xNairolf True killers remain rare because first movers own the deepest liquidity and habits.

@0xNairolf first movers don't just die off, they get chipped away slowly

@0xNairolf what’s the closest example you’ve seen where a killer actually pulled it off?

@0xNairolf does that hold up across cycles though? crypto moves so fast that the first mover advantage might just be a bull market illusion

lodestar @lodestarxbt ·

@0xNairolf copy just a copy, not many can kill the real

Validatus.com @stakeingermany ·

@0xNairolf A better product can win attention, but actually pulling liquidity, builders and users away from the incumbent is a much harder game.

Linda Xie @lindaxie · 169K

@0xNairolf Actually a lot if not the most! I think people didn't realize super early days of crypto how many attempts there were before one actually took off

nexora @nexora_28 ·

@0xNairolf thisssss basically why I dont think any new chain would wanna replicate rh playbook

David Hernandez @davernandez ·

@0xNairolf Not only that, in most categories it’s usually 1st mover, aggressive 2nd placer, and a big drop off after that The two biggest competitors in each crypto category typically take up the vast majority of attention/flow
