A ton of bitcoin core developers have lost funds. Literally the coders of bitcoin. Coldcard was considered a good self-custody solution by most. Those who tried to fully “roll their own” like Luke dash jr mostly lost. Some exploits are easy to avoid for the user. Coldcard wasn’t. If you’re self-custody in without a hardware wallet, how have you gotten that level of trust in your hardware, software, firmware, and supply chain?
