NOW. LaunchProof V2 is live. Anyone can now launch a token through @Uniswap's http://pools.trade infrastructure, before the http://pools.trade interface itself is publicly available. To be clear, this is not a separate launchpad run by us. LaunchProof charges 0 platform fees, never takes custody, and never touches your token or funds. Your wallet signs transactions that go through Uniswap’s official launch flow and contracts. Two routes are available: • Instant Launch, with immediate trading • Crowd Launch, with auction-based price discovery before Uniswap v4 liquidity Standard launches are open to everyone, cost gas only, and are clearly labelled “Not X-verified.” X-verified launches require a manual review of the X account and deployer wallet. That service costs 1M $LEAK. The full amount will be burned and every burn transaction will be public. We keep none of it. This is the model we chose to support $LEAK while continuing to build useful tools, without adding fees to regular launches. LaunchProof now tracks standard Uniswap launches too, not only X-verified ones. One last distinction: X verification proves who launched a token. It does not prove that the token is safe. https://launchproof.fun/launch

Fair criticism is useful, but this post mixes up provenance, safety, custody and curation, then treats disclosed design choices as if they had been uncovered. A few corrections: 1. LaunchProof was explicitly announced as an interface for Uniswap's launch infrastructure, not as an independent protocol. It uses Uniswap's contracts, takes no platform fee and never holds user funds. Repeating our own description is not exposing a hidden flaw. 2. Regular launches and the tracking dashboard are free. The 1M $LEAK requirement applies only to the optional X-linked process and the tokens are burned, not paid to me. Telegram access is a holder perk. You can dislike that utility model, but calling it a hidden extraction loop is inaccurate. My position and intended profit-taking were also disclosed publicly. For context, ~13M out of a 1B supply is roughly 1.3%. 3. The X link does not come from our opinion or manual judgment. Uniswap's official flow authenticates control of the X account and binds it to the deployer wallet. LaunchProof then cross-checks that data against the transaction sender and onchain metadata. The manual step only provides access to a flow that is not publicly self-serve yet. A purchased or compromised X account can obviously still be used maliciously. That is why the site explicitly says that verification proves provenance, not safety, quality or endorsement. Identity and integrity are different things. We have never claimed otherwise. 4. There is no contradiction between being non-custodial and having a manual process for an optional feature. Non-custodial describes what happens to users' funds and transactions. It does not mean every interface, notification channel or eligibility rule must be decentralized. 5. Dependency on unreleased infrastructure is a fair risk. Contracts and APIs can change, and the official UI may reduce part of the information advantage. We have been open about this being early infrastructure research. No permission or contract restriction was bypassed. 6. Nobody claimed Crowd Launch eliminates bots, insiders or information asymmetry. Price discovery is not the same claim as perfect fairness. These are Uniswap's launch models, not mechanisms invented by LaunchProof. The reasonable criticisms here are conflict-of-interest optics, the scalability of the optional manual process and dependency on infrastructure that may change. Those are worth discussing. Terms like "faking trust," "gray-area frontrunning" and "designed to pump" are conclusions about intent, not technical findings. They rely on collapsing several distinct concepts after those distinctions were already disclosed.

@Auduoduo, you're right. I feel like v4 hook doesn't have much substance. It's just deliberately creating a small bet to replace swap with an unequal bet, and forcibly adding NFT. I don't think it's very useful. Could you analyze uni's v4 hook mechanism when you have time to see if there's anything new or useful?

original · zh

I get the criticism of capitalizing on the launch hype and using it to get liquidity into their own token, but the rest of the criticism is true for Uniswap as well. And you should read the CCA whitepaper on how it eliminates insider coordination (developers.uniswap.org/whitepa…). Not to say that this approach is perfect. But it is better than instant launches.

Thanks, this is a much clearer version of your criticism. There are real tradeoffs here, but you are still mixing several different concepts. 1. Yes, the optional $LEAK gates intentionally create utility for $LEAK. That was announced publicly. LaunchProof was never presented as neutral public infrastructure. It is a free interface with optional holder perks and an optional paid process. The 1M $LEAK is burned rather than collected as revenue. I have also burned my entire personal $LEAK balance, so the argument about building this to exit a "massive position" is now factually outdated. You can also inspect the product itself. $LEAK receives no special placement, spotlight, promotion or preferential treatment anywhere on the dashboard. It appears like any other tracked token. Even the pages explaining the $LEAK payment do not display its contract address or encourage users to buy it. You can disagree with token-aligned product design. That does not make it hidden or deceptive. 2. I agree that users may interpret any identity signal as trust. That is a legitimate UX risk. It does not make provenance useless or fraudulent. The correct response is to define the label precisely and display the warning clearly. An X-linked deployment proves who controlled the X account and deployer wallet at launch. It does not prove honesty, safety or future behavior. The possibility that someone buys or compromises an X account does not invalidate the verification. It defines its limits. 3. You are still conflating manual access with identity verification. Our manual process controls access to an optional flow that Uniswap has not made publicly self-service. It does not determine whether the identity link is valid. X control is authenticated through Uniswap's flow, while the wallet, transaction sender and deployment metadata are cross-checked onchain. "Non-custodial" describes the handling of funds and transactions. We never claimed that every product decision or eligibility rule was decentralized. Publishing clear criteria and expected processing times is a reasonable suggestion, but this is not a contradiction. 4. Dependency on unreleased infrastructure is a real operational risk, and we have said so from the beginning. Users do not deposit funds into an experimental LaunchProof backend. They sign transactions that interact with Uniswap's contracts. If an API or permission changes, our interface may need to adapt or temporarily stop working. LaunchProof does not custody funds that become trapped when its frontend goes offline. Calling a free public interface "information advantage arbitrage" is also strange. Publishing the research and opening the interface reduces the private information advantage instead of exploiting it privately. Token alignment, label perception and dependency on early infrastructure are fair subjects to debate. But token utility is not hidden extraction, provenance is not endorsement, manual access is not manual identity verification, and centralized product decisions do not make a non-custodial transaction custodial. Your broader concern about misleading launchpads and manufactured trust is respectable. I simply think you are directing it at the wrong person here, because the product and the facts do not support the accusations you are making.
