The best thing Hyperliquid could do right now is lower their spot fees to ZERO. The spot market has consistently been one of the most capital inefficient and illiquid markets on Hyperliquid, despite it being a core component of Binance's flywheel advantage. DROP THOSE FEES

@ThinkingUSD capital inefficiency on spot while perps print is the real head-scratcher zero fees might just be a band-aid if the core liquidity incentives arent there

Mo RezaAli @Mo_ali ·

@ThinkingUSD Zero fees could bootstrap the spot side, but keeping makers around afterward is harder.

@ThinkingUSD Solana is the best place for Spot!!! You really know that!!

alina @alina_XBT ·

@ThinkingUSD spot is dead without liquidity, fees aren't the problem

fratelli. @fratCLVB ·

@ThinkingUSD zero fees don't fix thin liquidity, you need the makers first or it's just a cheap empty book

@ThinkingUSD Agree, many people wanted to ape billions into purr-2:native but weren’t sure because of the fees. @purrcto agrees

I don’t think that would fix the problem Like their target users are retail people And retail people doesn’t care about the fees (I am pretty sure that 90% of retail traders does t know that buying any coin on CEX, has a hidden fee in that) The main problem is why would you need to buy some assets on spot, on hyperevm, when you can’t fully use that in DeFi First they have to show where to put the money into, so buying in spot will be interesting I can’t wait the lending markets for RWA assets, stocks, etc Like yes, they already exist afaik, but still not there yet to attract huge amount of capital

@ThinkingUSD @rootslashbin I’d happily trade slightly lower protocol revenue today for a much deeper spot market tomorrow

CatGod @CatGodSandHive ·

@ThinkingUSD never apologize. just drop those fees!

VALAI @ValeriusLabs ·

@ThinkingUSD Spot volume at 3.8% of perp volume. That's the stat that matters At 5bps maker / 10bps taker, the big players aren't trading spot. They're using perps for leverage, not capital efficiency.

@ThinkingUSD Tbh it would expose a lot of CEXs (i.e. Coinbase) in terms of predatory spot fees Why pay 3% to CB when you can pay 0% and get the same thing

@ThinkingUSD let the free market work its magic and Hyperliquid will adapt with lower fees or risk being outcompeted by other exchanges that offer more competitive rates

mtn drew @mtndrew ·

@ThinkingUSD i think the real trick to ramping up spot volumes could be to making it a more quick and convenient fiat onramp hyperliquid needs to feel just as easy to start using as the major CEXs like Coinbase and Binance not too high of a bar imo
