Andrew Kang
@Rewkang

It’s always surprising to me that a chunk of the investment community is still skeptical of Humanoids and Figure The same was true for reusable rockets and SpaceX until more recently But this is what creates great investment opportunities. Fun interview with Jose.

@

New Emerging Managers episode with @Rewkang is live and it was a banger! Andrew is one of the most successful investors I know, and his parlay into robotics is looking like one for the history books: $19m into Figure before he'd even spoken to the founder, a ~15x reprice, then using part of this position to anchor RoboStrategy ($BOT) which now trades at ~$700m market cap on NASDAQ But Andrew's goal with Robostrategy is much bigger than one great trade: to build the "SoftBank for robotics", giving retail access to what he believes is the biggest market in history, and letting him continuously raise from and compound in public markets Andrew shilled me Figure back in '24 before he invested, and I looked at it pretty deeply before unfortunately passing. So in this episode I play devil's advocate, putting the strongest bear case on Figure and humanoids to him, digging into what I missed, and letting him take it apart. We also get into his broader investing philosophy, the RoboStrategy structure, and much more Listen to the entire conversation on Youtube now: https://youtu.be/BpJC0UmzRrI

@Rewkang humanoid robots seem like a solution looking for a problem vs task-specific optimized robots which I think have a lot more use cases

@Rewkang They said the same thing about SpaceX is going to age just as well as they said the same thing about the internet.🤣

@Rewkang What’s the biggest reason you think humanoids will follow the same adoption curve as reusable rockets?

@Rewkang the pattern is always the same skepticism then revisionist history

@Rewkang skepticism always looks smart until the tech compounds past the doubt

@Rewkang Finally, someone has clearly explained the "robot version of SoftBank." Rewkang's Q&A session was more valuable than reading a hundred research reports.🫡🫡

@Rewkang what’s the strongest bear case you brought up that he actually struggled to answer?

@Rewkang What part of the bear case on humanoids do you think is the hardest to refute right now?

@Rewkang Andrew I believe they are skeptical on the surface but already convinced deep down. It is much safer that way. Just look at what they will do soon

william1638 @William88Crypto ·

@Rewkang The biggest opportunities often appear when the market is still skeptical. Most breakthroughs look impossible before they become obvious

Phil Trubey @PTrubey · 15K

@Rewkang Yes, the robotics trade is still very nascent. As we see more and more AI robots being used in production, along with corresponding revenues, momentum will grow.

@Rewkang No one is skeptical. It is the future for sure. But, do u need to pay premium to invest now and become someone else exit strategy. Remember do your own research, never too late to invest and be patient are how you can win the market in a long run.

@Rewkang Reusable rockets had a launch price to beat; humanoids still need a clean labor-hour benchmark that survives supervision and downtime.

@Rewkang skepticism around new crypto tech is real but also creates opportunities. had this with TON miniapps, a lot of VC's were confused by the model.

andrew the skepticism on figure is not about the humanoid robotics market thesis or the technology, but about the behaviour history of the founder and the thin veneer of their claims and their demo videos, which always need to be examined carefully and critically. with reusable rockets your example, it was not hard to evaluate elons ambitious claims from technical pov and see the numbers indicate he was prbly right, then see each step as falcon development progressed hitting logical sensible confirmatory milestones. that script is now replaying with starship and far more people are following as spacex marches down its stated path with clarity openness and competence.

Bobby @Bobbyge6 ·

@Rewkang alright but spcx is a retarded scam its valuation has nothing to do with anything

Michael Rosmer @MichaelRosmer ·

@Rewkang This is conflating reusable rockets with Space X success The problem with humanoid robots is competition not utility or market size Space X has had effectively no competition

@Rewkang You were early on SpaceX too, that’s why you see it before the crowd. Another masterclass take
