The singular reason why i'm building Copia because access to global markets in Nigeria is broken in a specific way. If you're in any of the cities in Nigeria and you want exposure to something other than the naira, your options are bad. Custodial platforms that can freeze you, restrict you, or exit whenever regulation shifts. Or the regular "account managers/Fx Guru's" on whatsapp and Telegram who take your money and promise returns. We all know how that second one ends. Nigeria has seen MMM, Racksterli, CBEX. Millions of people got burned, and the lesson most of them took away was that markets themselves are the scam. Markets are not a scam.Taking custody your money with promised returns was the scam. So the thing I wanted to build was simple to state and hard to do: let someone deposit naira from their bank, get real access to a serious market, copy traders who actually know what they're doing and never once hand their money to anyone. Including us. That's what Copia is. Naira in from your bank, converted and routed to Hyperliquid, into a wallet only you control. You pick a trader, set your maximum loss budget, and their positions mirror to your account resized to what you can carry, with a stop resting on the exchange itself. We can execute trades on your behalf. We cannot touch your money. Not as a policy, but as an architecture. Slots in right after the "That's what Copia is" paragraph, before "Where we are": Hyperliquid matters here specifically. It's the deepest on-chain perps market there is with real liquidity, not a toy and the entire order book is on-chain and verifiable. Nobody has to trust a screenshot of a trade. You can check it.More importantly for us: you trade from your own wallet. Hyperliquid has native delegation built in, which means Copia can place trades on your behalf without ever holding your funds. The non-custodial thing isn't something we invented ,it's only possible because of where we chose to build. And nobody can freeze you out of it for being Nigerian Where we are right now: the copy engine works end to end on Hyperliquid. Real orders, real fills, independent risk sizing per follower. Payment and KYC partners are signed. We're waiting on API credentials, then naira deposits go live in the app. What's next: we've opened a small private beta, invite only. Traders first, because a copy trading product with nobody worth copying is useless. Then a small cohort with real money, small size, so we find what breaks before anyone else does. Then we open it. I'm not going to announce a date I can't hold. But it's close, and I'll keep posting the progress either way. @copiamarkets if you want to follow along.
