$HYPE is back above $60. Here are my thoughts on the week ahead. Over the next few days, 6.93M $HYPE (~$415.5M) is scheduled to unlock, making this one of the biggest unstaking events we’ve seen. • July 28: Selini Capital will receive 504K $HYPE (~$30M). I still believe this is the most likely bag to be sold, given that DreamCash has already shut down and there’s little reason for Selini to keep holding the deployment stake. If that happens, we could see some short-term selling pressure on $HYPE. • Later on July 28, Multicoin 1.96M $HYPE (~$120M) will unlock. A Multicoin representative has already stated that the unstake was done for security reasons and that they do not intend to sell. If that’s true, we should see the tokens staked again. A restake would likely be interpreted as a bullish signal for $HYPE. • July 30: Paradigm 2.92M $HYPE (~$171M) will unlock. Paradigm is one of the largest $HYPE holders, and just a few days ago they staked an additional 422K $HYPE. Nobody knows what they’ll do with the unlocked tokens, but I still don’t believe they’re preparing to sell. If Paradigm also restakes, it could become another strong catalyst for $HYPE. In that scenario, a move back toward the $63–65 range would look perfectly reasonable. Stay liquid.
The $HYPE unstaking queue is growing rapidly. More than 6.96M $HYPE (~$400M) is currently scheduled to unlock over the next 7 days. Even after Multicoin publicly stated they have no intention of selling, those are still just words. We’ll only know for sure once the tokens are staked again. Paradigm has yet to comment on its unstake. They’re one of the largest $HYPE holders and have made similar unstaking moves in the past. As for Selini Capital, a sale seems like the most likely outcome given the shutdown of DreamCash. We truly have a massive week ahead. Don’t try to predict what VC funds will do. Reduce your leverage, focus on spot, and let the noise play out. Monitoring the situation.
