BitMEX's parent (HDR Global) did a full strategic review of the business + crypto landscape and chose to close responsibly on their own terms after 11 years. No financial distress or fresh regulatory hammer mentioned. Hayes' farewell: "amazing ride... proud of what we created and that we will shutdown responsibly on our own terms. Fuck TradFi, Fuck the Banks, Fuck the man. Satoshi for life." They pioneered perps but got outcompeted on liquidity/volume. Clean history (zero hacks). Withdraw funds now.
