Don't forget spot equities "Today, nearly half the volume on Hyperliquid is in conventional assets like oil, silver, and the S&P 500. It’s expanding into spot commodities, prediction markets, and options."

@Matt_Hougan Just like so many others that write off bitcoin so casually in favor of alts. We will see how this ages like all the previous times and non-bitcoin musings we always see.
@Matt_Hougan I love all the $hype under the $hood, the future is $near by!
@Matt_Hougan solana + onchain solana is going to see massive growth these next 6-12 months
@Matt_Hougan I’m so excited for a crypto landscape where strong tokenomics are a given instead of a rarity.
@Matt_Hougan Such a long word salad to say you are heavily underwater HYPE 😂
Great piece. Two things I'd add and one question The Hyperliquid number is already past "nearly half." Builder markets crossed 51.8% of total volume on July 8 per The Defiant's API pull, with crude, Brent and silver making up about $1.42B of it. Though most of that runs through TradeXYZ, which holds over 90% of HIP-3 open interest, so the convergence story there currently depends on one deployer's liquidity and oracles. Worth noting Robinhood's Stock Tokens are structured as tokenized debt securities rather than actual share ownership, and the US is excluded. Doesn't change the thesis, just means the first real test is running on synthetic exposure outside the biggest market. My question: both lanes assume the venue captures the value. If Schwab Chain and UBS Chain actually happen, liquidity fragments across a dozen broker L2s and the economics might drift to whoever aggregates them instead. Do you see that as a real risk to the HOOD lane, or does distribution win regardless?
@Matt_Hougan Strong piece. Love how you’re framing the two lanes. Question though — if every major broker launches their own chain, does liquidity fragment and hurt the Robinhood model, or does the distribution advantage still win?
@Matt_Hougan I think $LINK is more important in this story.
@Matt_Hougan $HOOD building its own chain instead of joining one tells you what rails are worth now... the two lanes are the same bet. The customer is the scarce asset and order flow is just hyperliquid:native's version of owning one.
@Matt_Hougan Agree with your take. And here's mine. Would love to hear your feedback 🤝 x.com/kentlinyy/status/2080331…
@Matt_Hougan @DWFVentures tokenized assets report has been pointing exactly to this convergence x.com/DWFVentures/status/20694…
@Matt_Hougan Convergence of onchain and TradFi will lead the next bull.
tokenized assets need a credible path from issuance to leverage. today, most RWAs still 'break' at the liquidation layer. their price depends on offchain redemption, secondary liquidity is thin, and there are few balance sheets willing to absorb collateral during stress. that forces lending markets to run low LTVs and tight caps, which limits capital efficiency. institutional DeFi will come with size when protocols can underwrite that exit path and turn it into proper financing terms.
