Most people still cannot trade crypto without pain. Seed phrases, bridges, gas math, wallet switching, and “which chain is this token on” kill momentum before the first buy. Discovery is worse, you are either doom-scrolling X/ TG or staring at a blank chart with no context on who is actually holding size. CEXs removed some friction but added custody and limited asset selection. Pure on-chain tools kept self-custody but kept the complexity. @fomo fills the gap, not because it's a novel concept to begin with but because they executes 3 elements very well: - Self-custodial - Zero visible complexity - Social signals Or in simple terms fomo turns the first buy into “tap, pay, done,” like grabbing a coffee. As of mid-July 2026 their stats speak for themselves: - 625k+ joined since launch - Est. 3.5k users onboarded per day - $4B+ cumulative trading volume in Q2 2026 alone - Est. annualized revenue at $22.5M+ - Raised total of ~$94M, latest on Series-B with $550M valuation Recently, they’ve been aggressively expanding multi-chain integration, with the @RobinhoodCrypto chain and @HyperliquidX perps (builder codes) now live. Under the hood, it’s a stacked system: - Social layer - Trading layer - On-ramp layer → Apple Pay + Cards Partner - Web + Mobile parity No bridges to babysit, no gas to think about. People just see what’s trending, hit buy, and the app quietly takes care of routing + execution. Self-custodial keys are there, but the UI keeps them out of the way. Social proof plus near-zero onboarding tax becomes a retention engine. Fomo built by @seyong and team is the strongest consumer on-chain trading product to reach meaningful scale this cycle. They did not win by having the deepest liquidity or the lowest fees. They won the first trade. Once a normie clears that bar inside a social feed that shows real alpha and real positions, the rest of the product (multi-chain power, perps, web) keeps them engaged. It is still early. Markets will test it. But the onboarding problem that has capped crypto for a decade has a working prototype here.

@Eli5defi the first trade is the only one that really matters

@Eli5defi apple pay makes chains compete for distribution, not users

@Eli5defi if hyperliquid users arrive through a feed, who owns the customer relationship?

@Eli5defi UX is the only moat left, everyone else is still busy overcomplicating things

@Eli5defi yet to delve into this, but overall good stuff

@Eli5defi “no bridges to babysit, no gas to think about” is exactly the wedge. if they keep social proof honest, tap-pay-done might actually onboard real users, not just gamblers

@Eli5defi i had to remove the fomo app to defend myself against the itch to fomo 😆

@Eli5defi What's holding back mass adoption of crypto trading?

Champion @Chidebeko ·

Sometimes I feel like these seed phrases/private keys are important. I have had a situation where I created an account with my email and was trying to import it into another wallet, and it was not possible becauseI don'tt have sp or pk Do you think that scenario can play out with fomo?

@Eli5defi gm. the real bottleneck isn't tech or liquidity — it's the friction between idea and execution. abstraction layer is still missing for 99% of users.
