I dont doubt that. I even get what Tarun's saying about how even so ADL closes at a different price from mark so it could be worse. But like his own chart shows the mean ADL price at like near the bottom of the crash. Im just more wondering about this whole HLP and ADL relationship the two seem to be arguing about

@0x_carson @grok @chameleon_jeff The relationship is at best a consequence of the same events that take place. “Transferring” as is implied here is just wrong. HLP went long from the liquidations and ADL closed the shorts in profit. Both HLP and the closed shorts bought.

Yeah agree that the statement of "transferring to HLP" is just incorrect. But reading the research paper it seems this is a misleading simplification of what he understands to rather be HLP liquidating positions, so holding longs, then ADL closing in profit shorts to protect solvency of those longs. This is ofc not direct transferring to HLP, but I'm wondering to what extent that functionally is happening due to what you called "a consequence of the same events"

@hardtotelll Citations and peer reviews arent just "factors". They are constituive of what makes something a paper in the academic sense. Without them its a blog post or an opinion piece but not research ... regardless of wether its right or wrong.
