One of the huge problems with bitcoin is that its traded everywhere. That would seem to be a good thing right, not really. Because the massive money chases the small differences in those prices. And when the markets start nuking, massive order flow and price movements rresults. well the time oracle's become problems and bottlenecks. The price moves faster than time and prices from AMMs and order book software can supply info/results. I could go on forever about this. But if BTC was only traded on the CME, the entire event would have just been a big yawn for them.

That's right, if you have loosely coupled microservices like Binance, it's easy to scale horizontally and, in a deployment of n Kubernetes, it's unproblematic and practically without downtime. Peak demand is easy to adjust, for example, CPU load above a certain threshold, etc. You can operate this system without downtime, you just don't want to! Especially since the load is on the chains, such as the EVM, which, strangely enough, has had no downtime 🤷🏻‍♂️

@GoGopher_ @CryptoCowboy_AU I’m speaking specifically of CloudSql in this case, and again I also mentioned that yes you can spin up more replicas but if the main DB has been overloaded this would not help at all but cause more issues
