Hyperliquid is a DEX. A trader found a loophole, Placed a massive short on Jelly jelly, Pumped the price, And almost wiped out Hyperliquidโs liquidity vault. $12 million in losses, Panic everywhere. Hyperliquidโs validators stepped in, Froze trading, Manually reset the price, Forcefully liquidated positions. Crisis averted, right? But, it makes me wonder, If validators can decide to step in, Override market conditions and manually adjust prices, What exactly makes this decentralized??? If a few people can shut things down when they see fit, That just sounds like traditional finance with extra steps to me.
