Seeking Advice/Help
26, Female | Looking for a Mentor and Software Development Opportunity After a Career Break (Python/Django, Java, ASP.NET)
Hi everyone!
I'm reaching out to this community because I'm trying to restart my career in software development, and I'd really appreciate some guidance, mentorship, and potential job opportunities.
A little about my background:
I have completed my BCA and MCA.
I completed a 5-month internship where I worked on a Django project.
I have one year of professional experience at TCS.
I've worked with Python and Django, Java for Android development, and ASPNET.
I also have some exposure to manual software testing.
Unfortunately, I had to take a career break due to medical reasons. I'm now ready to return to work, but despite applying through different job portals, I haven't been able to secure an opportunity yet.
The break has made me question my technical skills and where I stand in the current job market. I know I have a foundation, but I want to strengthen my skills through practical work, learn current industry practices, and rebuild my confidence.
What I'm looking for:
1. Paid work: A junior developer role, paid internship, or contract opportunity where I can contribute to real projects and start earning again.
2. Mentorship: Someone experienced who can guide me on what to learn, review my code, help me understand industry expectations, and provide constructive feedback.
3. Practical experience: An opportunity to work with a development team, understand real-world workflows, and improve through hands-on implementation.
4. Career guidance: Advice on which technology stack I should focus on, how to approach the job search after a career break, and how to improve my resume and interview performance.
I'm open to Python/Django backend development, Java-related opportunities, ASPNET/NET development, and suitable entry-level software engineering roles. I'm also willing to refresh my skills and specialize in one stack based on the opportunity.
My preference is a paid opportunity with a supportive learning environment. I'm open to remote, hybrid, or on-site roles in Delhi NCR, depending on the requirements.
If you're a developer, engineering manager, recruiter, startup founder, or someone who has successfully returned to the industry after a career break, I'd love to hear your advice.
If you know of a team hiring junior developers, a legitimate paid internship, a small project I could contribute to, or a mentorship program that could help me get back on track, please let me know.
I'm willing to put in the work, learn, and demonstrate my abilities. I'm not expecting shortcuts; I'm looking for the right opportunity to grow while contributing real value.
Thank you for reading. Any advice, referrals, leads, or constructive feedback would genuinely help!
