It's October. A January survey said nearly a quarter of people quit their goals by week two. How did yours go?

What gets me is that it's not a motivation problem. Everyone is motivated in January. The plans just don't survive contact with a normal week. That's what my partner and I have been building for the last few months. It's called Targela, a goal planner that starts from how many hours you actually have each week instead of how many you wish you had, then breaks the goal into steps that fit into that. When you fall behind, it re-plans instead of leaving you staring at a schedule you've already failed. It's early and honestly far from perfect. Our first test users mostly didn't come back after day one, which taught us a lot. So, genuine question with three months left in the year: what was your 2026 goal, and where did it fall apart? Week two, month three, or did you actually make it? Happy to run anyone's goal through Targela and share the plan in the comments if you're curious.

Lol that first week in January is pure hubris. I set my goal to read 30 books this year thinking I'd be a new man by February. Currently on book 4 and the unread stack is just there... watching me. The time-based planning thing makes sense though. Most goal apps feel like they're designed for a version of me that doesn't need sleep or grocery runs.
