Using an IBKR account as an Indian investor

I am exploring the possibility of opening an IBKR account and investing in US and other international markets. Does anyone here have experience dealing with IBKR? If you were to deposit USD1000, how much of it can you realistically expect to land in your trading account after all the fees and markups? Let’s say I have an ICICI / HDFC savings account from where I will be drawing cash into my IBKR account.
