Puts on social media

With Russian bot farms down the internet has returned to a civil, welcoming community of likeminded people. Turns out all the hate was just from bots. That also means that half the MAU reported by every social media company was fake. Earnings will be a bloodbath for Meta, Reddit in particular. Even if there’s a footnote explaining that the war took out data centers and caused disruptions affecting MAU, the damage will be done: those weren’t real users to begin with and never should have been counted as MAU. Help me understand why I’m highly regarded.

Tbh Calls in the near term is right, Q3 earnings will be unaffected and earnings will probably look good. It’s Q4 that’s fucked.

half the internet was bots and we all just accepted it as normal, that's the part that's gonna age like milk the MAU thing is the real kicker though, these companies have been selling ad space based on numbers that were basically fiction

Are the record breaking profits fiction too?

They took out two data centers in Russia and bots are completely nonexistent at the moment

show me a credible source about the drop of bot activity, besides that shiny graph. one graph without any details can mean anything.

Show me a credible graph of Russian bots still going strong on these platforms

It's just 3 data centers out of 30 or so.

Every opinion that doesn't fit the allowed narrative is "russian bots", nobody has seen those bot farms but they are in every comment, UK PM now saying that Brexit was their fault, I am so fucking tired of the excuse

As far as I care I’m called a Russian bot at least weekly and I’m not even pro-Russian (although I’m a Russian and tend to call out obvious bs from time to time)
