I’m not sensing any tinfoil in this tweet. Seems like Larry is sharing something cool he found. Like we all did when the internet was a wee baby.
  4. u/lucki-dog 1 13 hours ago
He was interested in the Claude thing earlier this year, I think he just has interests 🤷

Cool, earth shaking and truly an end of an era. This will have huge consequences.

Sounds like a crazy workaround for stealing other people’s work.
  8. u/sunrise98 1 13 hours ago
It's just another iteration of AI - which was built by stealing other people's work
  9. u/DorkyDorkington 1 13 hours ago
Kind of yes but not exactly as they are being built from scracth without original source. Here we are, so what happens now.
  10. u/DancesWith2Socks 1 13 hours ago
That's exactly what AI does... Justice for Suchir Balaji.

No no no… it’s just parody. And parody is protected. It’s just a tragic parody

Honestly, can’t believe this is a legal tool. But I’ll allow it.
  15. u/DorkyDorkington 1 13 hours ago
So far it is perfectly legal. Unfortunate or not but this is where we are rn. Abode just had all of its apps reversed and they are now offered as free open source tools albeit still not finished this will be a huge hit for software industry. Nobody knows how to put the genie back in the bottle.
  16. u/spinaloil 1 13 hours ago
make closed source open source again
  17. u/braket0 1 13 hours ago
As it should be. The original internet was always a FOSS utopia. This kind of thing literally is a feasting ground for the next great wave of software engineers. You can't really have one without the other. There's a reason most of the internet is running on a Linux server... Anyway. Why would you want software to be more restrictive and controlled? Have you not seen what being a controlling douche has done to the tech giant CEOs? They're all raging d-bags. Now compare them to someone like John Carmack - guy has more talent in his pinky finger than all those bozos combined. And then consider how open Doom was, for example, and how it lit up the PC gaming scene and brought it into the mainstream. FOSS will always be the true frontier.

  20. u/Aktionerd 1 13 hours ago
I think adobe you still have to pay for the open source apps but yeah
  21. u/Furrymcfurface 1 13 hours ago
Be your own game studio. Imagine open world, open source games. Similar to the Seed in sword art online. Gamestop will be there as the marketplace
  22. u/FuqnGamer 1 13 hours ago
Work on/for Loopring? Wouldn’t mind getting those NFT’s back somehow
  23. u/armbrar 1 13 hours ago
oh this is big brain shit. yes pls
  24. u/Ging9tailedJecht741 1 13 hours ago
Hopefully they reverse engineer the NYSE and open up their own market where every order hits the lit market the moment you buy.
  25. u/mythreesons1911 1 13 hours ago
Or reverse engineer the high-frequency trading algos like Aladdin and look behind the curtain
  26. u/Ging9tailedJecht741 1 12 hours ago
Oh snap that would be awesome! ![gif](giphy|kPm4apd5PX1F8AHSOK)

  28. u/Pierrentoine 1 13 hours ago

No ape.  What I'm telling you is that when you're ready, you won't have to buy ebay.
  35. u/oh_hai_brian 1 13 hours ago

Yeah, but you can't replicate their existing customer base or brand loyalty/recognizability (to their services, anyway).
  38. u/EntertainerDowntown3 1 12 hours ago
Doesn’t matter. If they have the product and run the business better then eventually business with move from eBay to GameStop.
  39. u/spinaloil 1 13 hours ago
nice! someone do palantir and then maybe all of a sudden gov will care about privacy.
  40. u/Trippp2001 1 13 hours ago
Can someone reverse engineer me a video card? K thx.
  41. u/KamuchiNL 1 13 hours ago
Great, I can do that in my head with global systems, not just an app, thank you for giving children basic skills! /s
  42. u/Cyption 1 13 hours ago
What if we create our own eBay and call it teddy

Pretty sick, but its not earth shaking as another commenter said. Like how torrenting was going to end the music, gaming, and software industry? Well torrenting is still 100% a thing. And these industries are bigger than ever before. Your layman has a choice. Go on github and learn how to use this tool. Or pay $60 of imaginary money to get the game he wants right now on steam. He will continue to pay the $60. Even a non layman will often choose to pay the $60. If i buy the game it will be hosted on my game host of choice, it will track my hours and achievements, and its the game host that all my friends have so they can see my achievments as well. And thats worth $60. I love this because it forces media creators to really dig into what makes their content special. They had to build better hosts to convince people to stay, they had to introduce new features that could only come from the host. Also, there are wonderful game companies who i love and would never torrent or reverse engineer their games because I want to support them because I like how they treat their communities and their business practices. But if ubisoft releases a game i want... Y'all, ultimately this AI reverse engineer shit only puts more power in the hands of the common consumer. Stop watching the news its just there to scare you. This won't disrupt anything.

I'd love a Native PC port of Killzone 2. The emulator works alright, but not well enough.

1 streamer said: we are at napster level where every game are getting vibe coded so easily. They might start regulation because dev will lose so much money lol
  48. u/Buttplug_Railgun 1 12 hours ago
Maybe GameStop can use this to build a better app lmao
  49. u/popadopolous 1 12 hours ago
This is why you should own physical copies.

They nailed adobe and Sony play station and will eventually crack bitcoin and etherium. What a time to be alive.
