How do I become a decent trader ? Enough to quit a day job.

I know the very basics of the stock market there is just so much information out there I don’t know what to pick and choose to add to my brain utility. I want to be a decent trader earning enough monthly to quit a day job and reinvest earnings. Please anyone with advice , please guide me. Please don’t downvote my ignorance.

The first question is, was and always will be: How much do you need to live and what portion of your capital is that? It's that simple.

I have an extra 500 at the end of the month to invest after each month, ideally just to start out , 5k a month would be just enough for me to live and pay my dues and be comfortable.
