I built Stew Factory, a visual SVG animation editor, and my own lightweight animation engine!
Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on a project called **Stew Factory**, where you can create and animate SVGs visually, then export the actual code to use in your own projects.
I also built my own animation engine called **Stew Engine**, which powers everything inside Stew Factory. I recently published it on npm!
The idea was to make SVG animation easier to create, edit, and control without having to write everything from scratch.
You can work with keyframes, morph SVG shapes, add interactions, and export your animations to React, Vue, Angular, or plain HTML.
The engine’s player is just 43 KB with zero dependencies!
Everything you see in the video was created with Stew Factory, including the interactive cursor effects.
Try it: https://stewfactory.app
npm: npm i @stew-engine/player
I’d love to get some feedback from other developers! What do you think of the approach, and is there anything you’d like to see added or improved?
