I really missed Pocket, so I built my own read-it-later app for iOS
When Pocket shut down, I really missed having a simple place to save interesting articles and read them later.
I tried looking for alternatives, but many felt too complicated, had features I didn’t need, or came with yet another subscription.
So I decided to build my own.
It’s called **Pendr**, a simple, clean read-it-later app for iPhone and iPad.
The idea is simple: save something interesting now, read it when you have time, and don’t let your reading list become another endless collection of forgotten links.
Here’s what makes Pendr a little different:
Save articles and links from other apps.
Read articles in a clean, distraction-free reader.
Organize your saved content into folders.
Articles stay in your list for 5 days, then disappear automatically unless you choose to keep them.
Save your content using your own iCloud.
No accounts, no ads, and no subscriptions.
That 5-day feature is something I really wanted. Most read-it-later apps become digital graveyards full of articles you’ll probably never read. I wanted something that stays fresh and manageable.
I’m an independent developer, and I strongly believe that simple apps shouldn’t require expensive monthly subscriptions.
That’s why Pendr is available for a small one-time price, currently just €0.99 as an introductory offer.
It’s not meant to be a massive productivity platform. Just a beautiful, simple app that does what it’s supposed to do.
I’d genuinely love to hear what you think.
