Ares Capital - Thinking About Investing In It , What Dose The Community Think?

I’m somewhat new to the Portfolio game and I was looking for Stocks & Shares that seem Good to Purchase. I came across Ares Capital and was intrigued. What Metric/Data should I use to determine if I should buy it or not? I like the dividend but surly there are other factors/statistic and data I should look at right? But like what would that be? Note - I’m not looking for some big lecture or some post telling me something I already know (I made a post on this Sub before asking were I should put £3,000 and I really didn’t get many helpful answers , I was told to invest in a Vanguard ETF , which I did and it’s doing… fine I guess , I have an extra £1,000 and I just want to invested into a single stock) TLDR - Ares Capital , Dose this community think it’s a goodish potential investment , and in general what metric should I look at to determine good stocks to purchase.

Jim Cramet hates it, and that’s good enough for me.
