SPY on Friday had the lowest daily volume since Dec. 24th 2019 (and that was a half day).

**Thoughts?**

Volumes are always low on holiday weekends. It’s not always the same but it’s lower than the average.

Jorkin it to AI generated videos of their choosing. All the AI investment has finally paid off, we’ve reached spank bank Valhalla with Huang leading the charge

volume on SPY doesn't tell the whole story though. SPY, SPX options, and ES futures should probably all be taken into consideration if you are going to draw any sort of conclusions

Too much winning had to take a break.

    Holiday weekend. Always happens.
  21. u/milkywaygalaxy71 1 18 hours ago
Always happens but did not happen in last 7 years then?
  22. u/LimitlessMentally 1 18 hours ago
Lower than the average always happens. Fall break for families. Wall Street takes days off too. It’s not that serious.

The whole of last week felt really low volume across the futures. Was an awful week to trade

SPY price in Dec 2019 was 1/3 of today’s.

Hard to have thoughts without you also providing total trade volumes for the market and not just one etf. Also the ancient proverb comes to mind, does SPY move the underlying stocks or do the underlying stocks move SPY
  30. u/TheBigBearYahoo 1 17 hours ago
Pretty blatantly obvious SPY moves the underlying stocks at this point when literally 90% of financial advisors that have been doing this for decades and used to be able to pick stocks now cant beat the SPY.

Mid term elections next let’s see what happens after that
  32. u/MeowMeowTiger 1 17 hours ago
an ATH for SPY heading into midterms where a dem sweep is currently at 64% make the setup extremely tricky... can't long yet can't short...
  33. u/Preme2 1 17 hours ago
Why would it be tricky? People have more knowledge, more data than ever before. You’re getting a split government regardless.

Is SPY being manipulated? Is there shit loads of volume going through dark pool orders? Honestly I have no idea what I’m talking about but it seems manipulated.

  41. u/neverlupus7759 1 17 hours ago
    It's not a 3 day weekend
  42. u/Icy_Golf2703 1 17 hours ago
It was a very hard day to trade. Legitimately couldn't see the market going up or down.
  43. u/Yogurt_Up_My_Nose 1 17 hours ago
around the same time I bought $50k of BA shares at around $330.
