With Options Being A Major Strategy Of DFV, And DFV Making A Meme Of Options 101, Are Any Apes (Not AI) Here Capable Of Writing An Options 101 Tutorial Or Lesson?

I know there was a major movement by the sub and mods to deter anyone from talking about options. I don't agree with that, because DFV uses them and they can be a powerful tool to create upward pressure. For the Options 101 request, I don't think people necessarily need the bare basics, like simple terms, but it may be beneficial to learn when it can be a good time to buy options. What Greeks do people look for with what numbers indicating it is a good time to buy? Do you play different strategies? What would DFV do in this situation (speculative of course)? And so on

Here it is. ITM LEAPS. NFA.

Wrong. Buying ITM leaps doesn’t give you any better return than buying the actual underlying. When buying leaps you make more profit buying them OTM

Sometimes I ask AI things that I have a lot of experience and knowledge on and I am disgusted by the responses I get. The amount of times AI has told me to do something that would destroy HVAC equipment is far too many for me to trust anything AI says about anything important. AI uses reddit and other sources to gather information, God knows how the degens of reddit like to pretend they know everything.

Not an expert by any means, but selling cash secured puts and covered calls are a great way to make money. Just be aware that you will be assigned on them if they expire ITM so when selling puts be prepared to buy at the strike you set, when selling calls be prepared to sell at your strike. You can always roll them to a later date (buy to close and then resell) but the goal should not be to roll. Sell your puts on a dip and sell your calls on a spike. You should also be aware that once you write a contract you become less flexible, so while you could write a covered call expiring in 2 years and collect a high premium, that just means that the shares tied to that call are locked in and you can’t do anything with them unless you close the position.

Too late for cheap itm leaps options. Basically you will wait until IV is down and price is pushed down then buy itm leaps. Anything else is gambling. Which may or may not print.

Buy slowly in stages. Dont use all your capital. I buy LEAPS in tranches and keep lots of dry powder. I sell those leaps very slowly on run ups. Dont need to touch my shares at all. Use a portion of my shares for CCs.  Literally tripled my position in 3 years. Im pretty sure DFV does something similar to what i am doing and thats how his stack got SO big.

A simple search in this subreddit would show you not only are people capable, but have been doing so for years. There’s plenty of reading and DD on the subject, and throughout the internet outside of this sub. You’ve been on Reddit 10 years and haven’t figured out how to search for answers?

Don't learn options on GME. End of story.

There are quite a few posts about it. Use the search box properly. But yeah, as others are saying, ITM/ATM/NTM with enough theta is the safest way.

Options are gambling. Having said that welcome to the casino. I like in the money and at the money leaps. I loaded up on my last set when the warrants were issued. My thoughts were if RCEO thinks the price will go that high I’m in for it. I’ve been down on them the whole time until now. People here keep posting these charts where all the options are concentrated what you need to know about that is the concentration acts like a magnet. The price of the underlying gets sucked up to the strike and once it passes the strike it acts like a spring.
