What’s the backend database you are using for your apps?

hi fellow developers, I have been developing apps for a while now and I usually code it in Swift. Recently I started building apps in React Native also and found out that there was a backend as a service provider called Superbase, so I started using it, but my apps grow quite quickly, so the free tier was not enough and they started charging me $25 a month. so I looked for another option and I found an open source project called PostBase, I have started using it and it is working fine for most of my apps because I just host it on railway or digital ocean, whichever works better for me. But I was just wondering that what backends are you guys using and why, because I think paying $25 a month doesn’t work for me at this point of time, but I want to understand more from you what are you guys using.

Can you define "grow quite quickly" ? Because I am using supbase too. My app is not out yet but how much user did you reach for the need to use the pro version (25 usd) ?

Growing quite quickly but can’t afford $25, are you not monetising? Self host supabase on a cheap VPS is an option You’re not going to get crazy cheap I.e free hosted db for “growing very fast”

I rent a server with public IP address ($20 per year)and using v2ray to connect with my home server. And then I deploy heavy java+mysql as my backend service.

I use Convex. I think you will still run into free plan limits with Convex too. Self hosting either Supabase, Appwrite or Convex is an option. But maybe just check where you are hitting free plan limits. And see if you’re doing something weird to hit it. Because all of these platforms have a very generous free tier.
