Can't pay off the last OCBC EasiCredit payment (28k) in full. What actually happens?

Hi all, looking for anyone who's been through this or knows how OCBC handles it. My EasiCredit tenure just ended and the final payment is about $28k. I don't have the full amount ready right now. I called OCBC to ask what my options are if I can't pay it all in one go, but they said they'll only give me an answer when the final month actually comes. Not super helpful for planning. Some context: I've always paid on time, both for this and my OCBC reno loan. So I'm hoping they might offer some kind of instalment or payment plan (I know it'll cost more than 28k with interest, that's fine). Questions: 1. Has anyone been in this situation with OCBC (or another bank)? Did they offer a payment plan or restructuring? 2. If you missed or partially paid the final amount, how bad was it? Late fees, interest rate, impact on your credit report?

You’ll be charged late fees and interest which is gonna be really high. Why did you take up this loan If you can’t pay it off

He even took a reno loan concurrently. Bad with money obviously. Need to flaunt house etc

Can you refinance? What's your BTI. Do you have other outstanding loans?

They are ruthless, as all banks are. Had a family friend who went through something similar, because of his ego, he couldn't ask for a loan from us. And he ended up going downhill quite fast from there. Get a personal loan from a friend or something, 28k is not an astronomical amount.

You should be planning to pay the final amount in full
