Copy and Translate any text on your Mac's screen

**The problems:** * A lot of text on screen can't be selected, like game menus, scanned PDFs, subtitles and text inside images * Apps and games in a language you don't read * Translating it means screenshotting or retyping it into Google Translate * Most OCR apps struggle with Hebrew, Arabic and other non-Latin scripts **What Lector does:** * Lives in the menu bar and uses the same ⌘⇧4 crosshair macOS already has * ⌘⇧2 copies the text. The words light up and you pick the ones you want * ⌘⇧1 paints the translation right over the original, press Space to switch back * ⌘⇧9 keeps an area translated while it changes, for game dialogue and subtitles (beta) **What else:** * Translates every paragraph from its own language, so a chat in 3 languages still works * Reads Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic, Persian, Thai, the Indic scripts and more * Runs **fully on your Mac** with Apple's Translation and offline language packs, no account and no analytics * works on macOS 15+, Apple Silicon and Intel **Comparison:** * TextSniper only copies the text, it **doesn't** translate * Easydict translates screenshots but shows the result **in a separate window** and most of its engines are online * Lector puts the translation **on top of the original** and nothing leaves your Mac **Pricing:** * The **app is free** for 100 grabs and 10 translations a month * **Text** is $**9** one time with **unlimited grabs** and 30 translations a month * **Translate** is $**15** one time with **unlimited grabs and translations** plus live translation * Upgrading from Text to Translate is $6 * The app is **source available** **Download Links:** * Download the App: https://magicelklabs.com/lector **About Me:** * Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/magicelk235 * Github: https://github.com/magicelk235 * Personal Mail: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) * App Repo: https://github.com/magicelk235/Lector * Website: https://magicelklabs.com * Privacy Policy: https://magicelklabs.com/lector/privacy * Terms: https://magicelklabs.com/lector/terms * Support Mail: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])
