Built a brutally honest futures backtester. Looking for beta testers

My live bot lost its first 3 trades in 2 days. The backtest was filling orders on the signal bar. Classic. So I built Kapybar. Describe your strategy to Claude or ChatGPT (any language, voice, even a screenshot), confirm the rules, and it runs on 40 liquid CME futures (ES, NQ, CL, GC, ZN… + micros), 1-min to daily, back to 2008. \- next-bar fills, real rolls, commissions \- always vs buy-and-hold \- flags luck and edges that die with one more tick of cost \- last 2 years hidden until your final verdict (3 shots per market) \- prop-firm pass odds, minus luck It tests your ideas, it doesn't make them up. If something passes, it means something. Looking for serious rule-based traders. Needs Claude or ChatGPT Plus (MCP connector, 2 min setup). Free during beta. No money, no broker access, no API keys. Comment how you trade and I'll send an invite. Not financial advice.

hiding the last 2 years with 3 shots per market is the best bit here. most people burn their holdout on the fourth tweak and never notice they did.

Just going to lead to the classic "curve fit the OOS" problem though

it can, but three shots puts a ceiling on how much fitting the holdout absorbs. once they're spent you're forward testing, which is where it should end up anyway.

The 3-shot cap is per market (ES and MES share it) and every dev variant makes the stats stricter. After that, it's forward testing

that's the whole game isn't it. you tweak the stop, tweak the entry time, tweak the session filter, and suddenly you're looking at a curve that only exists because you stared at it too long. three shots forces you to actually think before you burn one i've been slowly building a mean reversion thing on CL and ZN but every time i think i've got something the walk-forward just laughs at me. the hidden holdout would probably kill it in two weeks flat which is exactly why i should run it

CL is a rough market to start mean reversion on, it trends hard on inventory days and OPEC headlines. ZN reverts more politely. before touching the rule I'd check whether the walk-forward losses bunch on Wednesdays or news days, that tells you if it's the idea failing or the calendar.

CL and ZN are both in, and you can filter by weekday. Better the holdout kills it now than live :)

Thanks, that's exactly the failure mode it's built around. Most people dont realize the fourth tweak was the one that burned it

So you wanna collect people strategies and use it for yourself. Smart idea but that's not gonna happen. All you can get is unprofitable ones.

My goal is building the tool, not mining strategies. You don't need to bring your real edge: test a dummy or just your exits. If that's not enough trust, totally fair to skip it
