I’ve realized purchasing the share is actually much safer and better return on investment in the long run.

I’ve officially graduated today with common sense, after losing quite a bit on options, I decided to purchase shares and realized that slow but substantial growth is actually much better for my emotional state and financial health. Thank you for your time.

But those potentially crazy gains bro, if you stop you'll never know if you were one trade away from greatness

I feel like people need a course on options before they're allowed to use them.

I mean yes, I started with just the idea that it was just up or down. I could probably do much better now but I don’t want to.

Totally fair. I don't think anyone who doesn't want to should or anything. I'm not crazy.

Yeah same. Today I bought some Robinhood shares, then I looked at my history and saw I had bought a combined total of 25 shares at $11 and $15 and sold them at $11.21 and 15.60.

Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic but if you think about it, $2500 in something like dell a year ago returned some insane results

No literally, if I had just held those shares instead of selling them for tiny profits due to impatience and switching to options (lost money of course). If I had just held and kept adding shares instead of being a degenerate and wanting it quicker with options, I’d have a very low cost basis and many shares.

Yeah options only work if you believe in luck
  14. u/_Clit-Commander_ 1 2 days ago
No, they don’t, you can believe in luck all you want but options don’t care lol
  15. u/CharacterCharity3505 OP 1 2 days ago
Yeah that’s kind of my point? I’m not rooting for options here

Options actually allow you to buy shares for a set price, if you have no interest in acquiring the shares, it's basically just gambling with worse odds.

Dude I know how options works

Wth are you me? After 2 years losing on options...ive also decided to just throw in the towel
  21. u/CharacterCharity3505 OP 1 2 days ago
2 years? It took me like 2 months to realize this was just gambling
  22. u/MajorasMaskOff 1 2 days ago
Well im a lot dumber than u, ill admit...
  23. u/CharacterCharity3505 OP 1 2 days ago
Yeah just shares from now on, I have 1 $100 HIMS call but that’s about it, it expires next year

The thing is, im in a paid discord with an options channel and everytime i see their callouts, it always looks like theyre making money. So i was like "ok if i just follow them ill make money" So i followed em for a while but i just never knew how long i was supposed to hold them until they post that theyre taking profit, in which case almost all the time it was too late and my options had me in the red. And when i did make money it just barely enough to make up for wat i lost. And then i wonder how much money are they really making because ill be watching the charts and ill see the candles destroy their contract value.

Anyone can fake it until they make it. The goal of that is to get you to pay for the discord

Ur right Im just kinda glad theres also another person who realized shares and longer term thinking are better for mental and financial health today. Almost like its a sign for me to quit short term options for good this time. Thank you CharacterCharity

https://preview.redd.it/n8pgocf6nkuh1.png… So many people say options are gambling but I really think it is because the trading community is full of trading "gurus" and scammers trying to take advantage of new traders. This is a skill that is learnable and profitable if you find the right person. I found a youtuber who taught be structure imbalance and algos building liquidity. Here is an example of a trade I took today and put in my chat to prepare for the possibility. Can you be this precise gambling?

Buying shares then selling covered calls has been my best bet. Limits upside but keeps money flowing

I won’t touch options on stocks anymore. Index options, on the other hand, are a thing of beauty. Love me some bull put spreads on the NDX.
