Someone out there is a marketing genius

I do not drink gin nor do i even like the smell of it. Somebody decided to put it in and old school looking oil can and put it in the rum section of my local liqour store. I tip my hat to you sir/madam or whatever pronoun you choose to use these days. You got me to spend 30 dollars on something that will probably never be opened unless I have a visitor that likes gin

Someone did their target audience research... I am not in that target audience.

It’s novelty packaging, I don’t know if this great marketing. I’m gonna say it’s not. Looks cool tho.

I agree with you about the novelty packaging. For me the marketing aspect is putting it on the shelf amongst the rum where it normally would never be. I would have never seen it if they didn't do that. Not sure if that was the store that chose that to do that or the supplier

probably who ever put it on the shelf thought it was rum. I don't think that sounds like a planned retail product marketing strategy, to trick people into buying it.

The packaging might seem gimmicky but it's actually a solid gin. Op, if you're not really a gin fan, try making a Tom Collins. Basically a bubbly limonade with gin. The flavors mix really well with citrus. Just google it, there are tons of great recipes.

It’s for the dude who hides a handle in his garage to sneak a sip when his wife isn’t looking. Makes it a little easier to hide lol. My BIL is like that.

I tried it and liked it. Bought it for my brother as a gift. Not sure if he’s ever opened it but he loved the packaging
