Why do you use crypto other than stablecoins?

I mean like why would anyone buy ethereum or btc or anything else? what is the purpuse of that? Aren't these were just meant to be exchange intermediaries? Do you really believe putting money in something that doesn't anyhow generate value is meaningful beyod just being as intermediaries?

Im into crypto for the tech not just the money tbh. ethereum especially the whole idea of smart contracts and decentralized apps is wild to me. its not just a currency its a platform where people build stuff without some big company in the middle taking a cut. stablecoins are boring they just sit there. with eth you can actually use it in defi and nfts and all that weird internet stuff. the value comes from what the network can do not just from people trading it back and forth.

tech is 100%, definitely way better than banking 100 relashionships needed to get funds from a to b, but I still don't get it why people would buy coins or NFTs not backed with anything
