My secret is theft

Somehow I have stumbled upon my most successful strategy the past quarter through extremely mild theft. Step 1: abuse trial accounts. Make an account on iftrades and set a reminder to cancel it after a month. Step 2: plunder their top strategies page. I saved every single one for every time frame. Step 3: leverage your plunder. Download your saved strategies into a json file in the settings page. Take this JSON to your LLM. Backtest them as if they are one huge strategy, and make your LLM find cut limits that would eliminate major downswings from combining them. Step 4: download fresh data before your account expires. Repeat. I haven’t been blocked once. I’m sure they know people do this. As they say in world of Warcraft: exploit early exploit often

The "reality check" note on that screenshot is doing lot of heavy lifting here. 19k strategies tested and only 3 trades in a month is basically nothing, that win rate and drawdown mean zero with sample that small. Still, the method is clever. I did something similar once but with a different site, made a new email every month for the trial and scraped whatever I could. They eventually started requiring phone verification so that ended fast. I think the real trick is the LLM part, using it to find cut limits across merged strategies. Most people just copy paste one strat and wonder why it fails. Combining them and filtering the noise is where the edge probably lives. Wonder how long before iftrades starts obfuscating that JSON export though.

100% that’s why I download 30 of them each week for my own LLM to slice and dice. Without that it’d be extremely manual to sort through those
