UBI, but only for small businesses.

A survival income for businesses that already exist and keep a place alive, but can't win on pure profit. My list: ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ Last grocery shop in a village ๐Ÿ’Š Small-town pharmacy ๐Ÿ‘ž Shoe and watch repair ๐Ÿ“š Independent bookshop ๐Ÿฅ– Local bakery ๐Ÿ”ง Village mechanic, plumber, electrician ๐ŸŽน Piano tuner, tailor, bike repair ๐Ÿ“ป Electronics and hi-fi repair (right-to-repair angle โšก) โœ‚๏ธ Barber in a town of 800 people Add yours... The rule behind them: social value is bigger than profit. When they close, the town loses more than a business. It loses a reason to stay. Pay the baker who keeps a town alive, or pay freeloaders to stay home. Which one is the better deal?

Socialism much? Everything is cyclical. When big business moves in and takes over people choose to go there. Until they dont. Then small business gets lean and competes and they win back the local customer. Repeat ad nauseum over decades.
