To the FAs in Singapore: what's something you wish you knew before entering the industry?

For anyone currently working as a financial advisor/financial consultant: What's one thing you wish someone had told you before you started? Could be about sales, prospecting, clients, income, work-life balance, career progression, or anything else. Would be especially interested in hearing from advisors who have been in the industry for a few years.

That I would become hated by my friends and family and society in general. A little bummed out about it but it's the cost of reaching MDRT I guess.

I can definitely see how that would be one of the tougher parts of the job. 😅 Do you feel like the “being hated by friends and family” part is mainly because of prospecting, or more because of how people generally perceive financial advisors? Also, congrats on reaching MDRT! that’s a pretty big achievement.
