Helping getting into trading

Hello guys so I’m interested in getting into the trading scene. I know barely nothing about it but I do have an accounting background (in case that helps with something) But my main question is does anyone has a YouTuber or YouTube videos that are actually WORTH watching to learn about trading and what to do and not to do. Also courses are welcome even tho I bet most of them are so ppl can scam you. Thanks.

you alphabetize your spice rack and you're asking us for youtube recs? i'd just start with paper trading on thinkorswim and skip the guru nonsense

"I do have an accounting background"- "But my main question is does anyone has a YouTuber or YouTube videos that are actually WORTH watching to learn " Question did you learn to be accountant "backround", from watching a youtube channel to learn the craft? I fucking doubt it. So stop asking stupid questions and pick up a book.

Ok so yes I did specifically write videos but yes books are more than welcome too. Do you have any recommendations?

Ive been in the field over 30 years, made my fortune decades back. I dont recommend it to anyone. People really dont think these days. This is a book that is on every decent traders shelf. It gives you a good overview of things and how it works and why. People are lazy so heres the audio book https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYENk3YgS…

for the love of what ever god you believe in. DO NOT PAY FOR A COURSE DO NOT LEARN FROM SOCIAL MEDIA OF ANY KIND And think and remember If someone is selling you a service/item on how to make money. THEN THE ONLY PERSON MAKING MONEY. IS THE PERSON SELLING THE COURSE/ITEM.

Hey I really appreciate it. And starting this Saturday I’m gonna give the book u said a go. And I also think the same thing about the courses, but there’s a tiny bit of me that hopes someone does actually have a honest thing going on

Start with the basics and paper trade before putting real money into trading. Your accounting background helps with understanding financial statements, but trading requires a different skill set, especially risk management and psychology. For YouTube, focus on channels that teach market structure, position sizing, risk management, and how to analyze trades rather than channels selling signals or promising easy profits. There’s plenty of free educational material and beginner trading discussions through my profile/community too. Might help you too.

Thank you so much for the advices. I think my accounting won’t serve me too much other than being self aware of my own money and not go bankrupt while trading ahhaha

What instruments do you think you have a preference for? And what are your short to medium term goals?

My opinion/recommendation. Accounting background is very beneficial if you want to research a stock to hold long term, maybe even swing trade a quality stock. Daytrading: Your accounting background will work against you. Why? Because you will try to use logic why a stock price does what it does. There is no logic why a stock price goes up $2 in 1st 20 minutes, then drops $2, then 1 hour later goes up $2, to only finish the day -$5. Try not to understand why a stock price moves. Try to understand how to read a chart / price action, then create a system to suit you trading pattern. Theres no magic bullet, and you need to learn the hard way, like most of the traders I know, including myself. I have no idea, if any youtube video courses are legit or not, but I'm sure you can pick up a few tips from each video. Most of the more serious courses ask for money. I like to watch videos from **James Rich Young** but I have no idea if what he teaches can be any benefit to you. I think he is 1 of the few legitimate traders on youtube.

I recommend you learn as much as possible about quantitative finance. Most of the people pushing YouTube channels showing technical analysis trading strategies are grifters. This is what hedge funds and retirement funds do. Just prepare yourself mentally to not give up though because it is a long journey

Thanks. I’m 22 so I think the long journey is worth a shot

Start with the basics before paying for any course. Learn risk management market structure and position sizing first. There’s a ton of good free content on YouTube so I’d avoid anyone promising quick profits. Paper trade for a while and journal everything you’ll learn a lot from reviewing your own mistakes.

Can you give me any good YouTube recommendations and would u recommend me a good app to paper trade?
  20. u/Nabeel_ajnala 1 10 hours ago
TradingView’s own YouTube tutorials they’re pretty good for learning the basics without the usual get rich quick stuff. For paper trading TradingView is a solid option. Practice there use realistic position sizes nd journal every trade so you’re actually learning from the process.

Search this sub - this question gets asked weekly and there are solid threads with vetted free resources. Your accounting background helps with reading financials, but day trading is a completely different skill set. Start with price action and risk management basics on YouTube before paying for anything.
