Buying QQQ is easy. Holding through the pullbacks is a whole different thing
I've been holding QQQ for a few years. Bought most of it during the 2022 selloff, so I'm still up overall.
That said, this summer still stung. QQQ hit an all time high in early June, fell into correction territory by late July, and even after the bounce it's still below the peak. Opening moomoo one morning and watching a big chunk of my unrealized gains disappear over a couple of weeks hit harder than I expected, even though I never went red.
What makes it harder to ignore is how much of QQQ now sits in the same mega cap tech and chip names tied to the AI trade. A lot of people seem to think that theme could still have a bigger reset ahead, and if they're right, this wasn't just a normal pullback.
I've always been a passive buy and hold type, but this time I'm getting slightly anxious. Should I just stop checking my account? How do you deal with this anxiety?
