That's more because people are reeetaaaardded, it's been recommended forever to buy shares.
  6. u/Superstonk-ModTeam moderator 1 21 hours ago
Shit is blocked by auto of for a reason. **Rule 1. Treat each other with courtesy and respect.** Do not be (intentionally) rude. This will increase the overall civility of the community and make it better for all of us. Do not insult others. Insults do not contribute to a rational discussion.
  7. u/WisdomAntium 1 21 hours ago
Oppressive mods won't let me use words that aren't against reddit tos. Anyways, it's been recommended since the beginning to buy shares (I assume this is what the pro options mod is actually trying to censor)
  8. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 21 hours ago
Buy and hold right? That was the point. Time in the market and whatnot. Well 5+ years is a reasonable timeframe to expect a return on investment.
  9. u/WisdomAntium 1 20 hours ago
Selling is a reasonable option if you're not happy with your roi. Sniveling like a toddler on forums about it is also an option, but the rest of us will think what we'll think about you (I'll be careful, rule 1 "be nice or else")
  10. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 20 hours ago
Yep. There it is. Buy and hold shill advocating some one else sell, for a loss at that. No other actual arguments because you’re the farthest thing from a rational investor as you can be. I seem to remember one “activist investor” sniviling like a toddler directly to the company until he had a board seat.
  11. u/WisdomAntium 1 20 hours ago
Good luck getting your board seat 👨‍🍼

Are people seriously gloating when the stock is near a 1 year low?
  14. u/SymmetricDickNipples 1 23 hours ago
Hey man, we're up almost half a percent from our cirrent position below the "floor". That's great right? ...right?
  15. u/Radiant_Wing5530 1 23 hours ago
I'm following the saga still because it's interesting, but I sold when fellow Apes voted yes on allowing more dilution, every rational thought I had told me to at least temporarily jump ship back then. Honestly glad I did
  16. u/SymmetricDickNipples 1 23 hours ago
Wish I had too. I sincerely considered it but I didn't anticipate us suddenly dropping the price by paying off the loans with stock. Silly me.
  17. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 23 hours ago
I like the point that someone else brought up. The E-Bay deal was milked just long enough to get that dilution approved. At best the board is incompetent. At worse they just lied to and manipulated all of us.
  18. u/kennedysleftnut 1 23 hours ago
What would be their end game with that though? Doesnt make sense for them to dilute themselves
  19. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 23 hours ago
Because they’re all rich and that don’t give a shit about us. Because they’re in on the scam and slowly bailing out the shorts by feeding them shares. Because they’re legitimately just a bunch of idiots like most rich people with more money than sense. Pick one. Whatever their game is, it certainly isn’t delivering value to shareholders.
  20. u/kennedysleftnut 1 22 hours ago
I dont believe that "let em short"
  21. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 22 hours ago
I literally snorted at how fucking stupid this comment is. No. Fucking stop them. Do something that breaks the dam. Actually merge and acquire. Grow the business into an actual holding company. Let them fucking shot? Any other CEO would have been sued out of their pants for the shit that RC has said and done, and if I was an actual whale we’d already be in court for this shit.
  22. u/kennedysleftnut 1 22 hours ago
    Hmmm. Interesting.
  23. u/VelvetPancakes 1 21 hours ago
How about “let them close their shorts” instead of bailing them out with yet more dilution around/under $20?
  24. u/VelvetPancakes 1 22 hours ago
RC more than tripled his net worth while GME was dropping. His GME position is relatively small compared to his overall net worth. Why would he do it? Because he is getting bribed (likely with MNPI, to avoid direct payments) to bail out the naked short prime brokers at our expense
  25. u/kennedysleftnut 1 21 hours ago
    Whats MNPI stand for?
  26. u/VelvetPancakes 1 21 hours ago
    Material non-public information
  27. u/kennedysleftnut 1 21 hours ago
    Hmmm. Thank you.
  28. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 21 hours ago
The first couple dilutions were fine, really. If we wanted to grow and become gameshire Hathaway, that takes cash on hand and getting rid of debt is a good business move. But just sitting on 9 billion in cash for years, and then asking for 2.5 billion shares? Fuck this guy.
  29. u/VelvetPancakes 1 21 hours ago
Berkshire didn’t become what it is today through dilution, Buffett only diluted shareholders 30% over SIXTY YEARS
  30. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 21 hours ago
Yeah, this guy thinks he’s Warren buffet, but buffet literally spun off a class B stock to not have to dilute the class A. RC wants shareholders for decades and centuries, but what is the fucking point of holding if after decades my stock is still in the 20-30 dollar range. I will have literally gained nothing no matter how much money I put in, and I won’t even have a dividend to grow my position naturally because RCEO doesn’t fucking believe in dividends.

Again, for as much as people love to claim "shills" about any negative sentiment, I'd bet some of the posts like this one and other, "sir they're still buying" posts are made by GameStop "shills" manipulating the sub. I mean their marketing guy literally ran a website about DD and knows apes well.
  34. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 22 hours ago
Turns out the “all news is good news” morons were the shills all along. I’d buy that for a dollar.
  35. u/adriftDrifloon 1 20 hours ago
I tried to warn you all and I kept getting downvoted
  36. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 20 hours ago
You didn’t warn me. I said the same thing. I didn’t sell, but maybe I should have when that vote went though.
  37. u/Igotyoubaaabe 1 18 hours ago
This sub twists themselves into knots about dilution not really being dilution. 😂 pure delusion.
  38. u/Zenyquyen 1 13 hours ago
  39. u/talkshitnow 1 16 hours ago
And why are you here commenting,
  40. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 23 hours ago
The only thing is going to break this is RC actually doing M&A with all of that cash we have, and M&A with companies GME can actually afford at that. E-Bay was never happening, and we keep looking like fools because of it. 2 years with billion of cash in hand, and not a single M&A approved and completed. Even if we get those M&A RC is just going to dilute our shares to nothing anyway. I’m seriously conflicted and seriously wondering if this stock is truly dead. A combination of naked shorts and bad leadership that is doing literally nothing about it. Sleepy hollow men not delivering what they promised.
  41. u/Radiant_Wing5530 1 23 hours ago
The stock is dead due to 2 reasons imho. RC has no clue what to realistically do with the cash apart from playing it safe with Treasury bonds. Which the stock market doesn't reward for good reason. Fellow Apes are borderline actually regarded. No rational shareholders of any other company would vote yes on possible dillution without a clear presented plan for the money.
  42. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 23 hours ago
Hey I voted no, and I said as much. He had done nothing to prove he could actually deploy the capital he had, as you said. RC is a one trick pony, and there’s too much observational evidence to ignore it. He can run a gimmicky storefront, but anything past that is the Peter principle in action. He’s no Warren buffet, I know that.
  43. u/hamcicle 1 21 hours ago
  44. u/Chameleon2000 1 13 hours ago
I voted no for every proposal, for the first time ever. Normally i voted what the board recommends. I was very disappointed seeing that the majority voted yes especially for the 2.5 billion shares authorised. I regret I didn't sell out at that moment
  45. u/GhostCiggy7 1 23 hours ago

The stock was $10 two years ago. You're asking if people super familiar with the concept of a stock being mispriced by a fraudulent market are concerned about their stock being mispriced by a fraudulent market.
  48. u/StuartMcNight 1 21 hours ago
So going back to OP… price manipulation HAS indeed being working opposite what they imply?

  53. u/SymmetricDickNipples 1 23 hours ago
Did you post the wrong meme by accident? Because I have no idea why you'd be gloating today
  54. u/funkyavocado 1 23 hours ago
It's probably just pure copium. But I also wouldn't put it past RC to have a meme farm to influence the sub. As far CEOs go he seems to be using social media influence way more than most.
  55. u/SymmetricDickNipples 1 23 hours ago
Always is. Wouldn't surprise me either. He clearly thinks we're morons, which is proving more and more fair by the day.

  62. u/RagingSofty 1 21 hours ago
Im rather chuffed with this one.
  63. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 21 hours ago
No one is trying to force you to sell. The only people doing that are Pro-GME shills who have no actual arguments to counter the point that the board has no ideas what they’re doing, and we’re never going to get returns on our investment. I don’t want to sell. I don’t want you to sell. I want the gameshire Hathaway I was promised. It sits squarely at the feet of RC’s decisions that I don’t have that yet.
  64. u/RagingSofty 1 21 hours ago
Of course I want to see the stock be valued as a phone number, but I think the vision has also changed. There isn’t going to be a squeeze. If we want the stock to go up, unfortunately, that means the market makers need to be on your side. There is no magic squeeze button in Ryan’s office. Do I think he is perfect? Absolutely not. Do I think he has a plan to really get this going? Of course. He battled Amazon on a product category and won. That doesn’t happen by accident. Can he reproduce it? Maybe. Are the dilutions a little head scratching? Idk I am not a finance guy, and all this shit is so fugaze I have given up trying to understand it. I like GameStop. I shop there for games and the occasional tcg when it is decently priced or I have my Pro coupon. It is where I pulled a Venusaur back in what must have been 2000. I want to see it succeed. Americans Express was not a credit card company at its inception. GameStop will evolve, too.
  65. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 21 hours ago
No, GameStop won’t evolve. They’ve had multiple years will billions of dollars to start the M&As. They haven’t done it, and now the half cocked eBay offer is done and over with, and we look foolish for it. I don’t care about the squeeze. I want GameStop to buy a fucking company. If they haven’t done it by now, they’re not going to do it until there’s a change of leadership. I still believe in GameStop. But Ryan Cohen lacks either the skill or will to do what has to be done. He can make money off of a gimmick, but he is no Warren buffet. I shouldn’t have to wait decades or centuries for my CEO to fulfill his fiduciary obligation to deliver me actual shareholder value.

“Things could end up differently tomorrow”
  67. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 21 hours ago
How many yesterdays ago did he say that?
  68. u/RagingSofty 1 20 hours ago
Doesn’t matter, there is always tomorrow.
  69. u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1 19 hours ago
That’s what’s called a personality cult. Tomorrow might actually come if not for RC refusing to deploy capital to actually merge and acquire. If you aren’t at least asking why he hasn’t yet, then tomorrow never comes because your own CEO keeps taking you for a ride. It’s time to question RCs leadership.
  70. u/RagingSofty 1 19 hours ago
It’s basic logic, actually. Just because the sun rose today, and yesterday, and the day before - does not guarantee it will rise tomorrow. I don’t need to ask questions, I just buy digital paper. You and these M&A….

Hasn’t worked? Stock price is fixed
  72. u/StuartMcNight 1 23 hours ago
Hasn’t worked? Isn’t the whole thesis that the price is actually manipulated? Sounds like it’s been working for 6 years.
  73. u/TheThirteenthApostle 1 22 hours ago
They shorted with the expectation that Gamestop would go bankrupt, so they would never have to cover their shorts. Gamestop did not go bankrupt. Hedgies must now cover shorts. They are trying to kick the can, hoping Gamestop goes bankrupt. Gamestop is showing no signs of going bankrupt. And the can is approaching a brick wall.
  74. u/What-Is-The-Internet 1 22 hours ago
The cans been at this hypothetical brick wall for 5 years
  75. u/StuartMcNight 1 21 hours ago
Isn’t the can 50% lower than 5 years ago? You can say the naked shorting will not work indefinitely but it HAS worked so far. In fact, anyone shorting in the last 5 years have probably made good money. PS - GameStop did not go bankrupt because RC sold a ton of new shares every single time the can was at the wall giving the shorts an out.

I kind of miss the time when you could look at the quality of posts to know if its weekend or not. Nowadays with trash like this flooding the frontpage it's even hard to guess the sub. Could be Superstonk, one of the WSBs or one of those memesubs exclusive for mentally challenged people.
