It certainly is not a scam but it would have been a lot more significant if had stuck with the P2P cash goal
  2. u/Irrelephantoops 1 1 day ago
It couldn't, so they had to do mental gymnastics and come up with other ways to convince people to buy their bags
  3. u/Safe_Squash1704 1 1 day ago
Did it not? I fail to see what your saying.
  4. u/DrGarbinsky 1 1 day ago
No, it did not. The p2p cash scenario forked off with BCH and BTC was just left with this made up SoV narrative that you see failing before your eyes. The tiny ass blocks do not allow sufficient tx throughput for a p2p cash ecosystem. And don’t mention LN that piece of shit was trash from day one.

You have a very surface level understanding of technology. Should probably read a book.

Hahaha, yah sure buddy. I've only been a software engineer for 25 years. And bought my first bitcoin in 2011. But ok. Thanks for the tip. You'll excuse me if I find your "argument" unconvincing.

OK explain why settlement assurances are "unconvincing"
  8. u/Safe_Squash1704 1 1 day ago
Then you would know that block time has little to do with finality. Settlement occurs once an appropriate amount of assurances have completed. In Bitcoin it is said that 6 blocks are needed for Settlement. In litecoin it is 30 or more. In BCH hundreds of blocks are necessary for the same assurance. Explain why settlement assurances are "unconvincing" to you. What is your rebuttal to Nic Carters explanation of In the article I listed above.

No one said anything about block time.

That's all you have to say? Lol Block time, block space. They go hand in hand. Yikes. Remind me to never hire you for any of my projects "dr"
  11. u/DrGarbinsky 1 23 hours ago
block time and size are independent variables. No one gives a fuck about any of your projects.
  12. u/Safe_Squash1704 1 23 hours ago
It's all related. How are you supposed to trust a block in BCH for "cash" if it has no settlement assurance? Or the settlement assurances takes hours or days? By that time you could have just sent it through Bitcoin.

I would classify Nic's article on settlement as orthoganal to the topic of p2p cash vs SoV.

Legitimately haven't held or cared about BTC since the block wars. Scam or not, it's just not great tech.
