Iran Rules Out Talks With Trump, Says Strait Will remain Closed Until His Term Ends In 2029

In a major setback to efforts to ease tensions in West Asia and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, Iran on Monday has ruled out any future negotiations with US President Donald Trump and Iran's Supreme leader Mojtaba the Donald Trump's Knamene enoos A٣٢ administration, saying it will wait until the US President's term ends on January 20, 2029, according to Iranian outlets and a post by an adviser to Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf. Majid Shakeri, adviser to Ghalibaf, said Trump would not reach an agreement with Tehran and that Iran would continue with its current approach until his term ends. \#**ARTOFTHEDEAL** 🤣😂🦅

I'm pretty sure that a recession is the best-case scenario at this point. I'm planning around a Greatest Depression followed by WW3.

Ya, perhaps. My experience with humanity doesn't lead me to believe that we can work together effectively to fix the foundational problems that we have currently.

The economic and power disparity between him and an average worker in the US is massive. That gave him a lifetime of overpowering people even by breaking the law with beneficial outcomes. That incorrectly be made Trump believe he always did win because his character and intelligence. The economic power and disparity between the US and Iran, however, is absolutely not that large by comparison on the world stage. He’s honestly stunned tantruming isn’t working: this loser is getting the biggest reality check of his life funded by billions of our dollars

Multiple sources are reporting the same thing.
“Trump will not reach an agreement with us. We will accompany him until his term ends,” Shakeri said, per translations of remarks circulated by Iranian media.
The remarks come from Majid Shakeri, an influential conservative analyst who has advised Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Ghalibaf has served as Iran’s chief negotiator during the war.

What do you mean? There was no other play. Really trump played it insanely badly. Irans regime was falling apart they were moving money and their water is at disaster levels. Trump comes in thinking Venezuela. Iran though has been left alone for a reason… They literally have a pull in case of emergency lever in the strait of hormuz. They never wanted to use it prior due to it possibly resulting in an Iraq invasion but if you pull an invasion then they have no choice. Nothing worse can happen so they did. Now they see the world isn’t going to team up. The Iraq invasion isn’t happening. And they have the us by the balls. The strait is now officially theirs and this is something they never dreamt would happen. Trump like an idiot played a stupid hand and Iran called. Now we’re all fucked.
  97. u/cle2056 1 1 day ago
The US is going to do nothing accept take whatever deal Iran decides, when and if Iran decideds to do a deal with the US. The US has. no. leverage. They never did. This is the political equivalent of a Karen demanding something at a McDonalds. At the end of the day you can eat the Big Mac ya got or leave. Next customer up. Iran will just find another country or countries to consume their oil. They will also just mark up the oil to the US cause they just can.
  98. u/Ceriden 1 1 day ago
The US is going to blockade their blockade so hard this time. They're going to be begging Trump for a deal, with tears in their eyes. And he will say a deal will be reached in two weeks. (His words would be more word salady than that. Maybe talk about whatever new thing he wants to make trashy by covering it in gold. Also 2020 election. Man fuck this whole administration)

While we suffer let’s just work with Saudi Arabia to build alternatives to the strait, reduce our dependency oil/fertilizer through the strait and watch the economic blockade on Iran cause them to crumble. Casually mow Irans grass anytime they launch a missile or drone.

Well since the person that said this is Ghalibaf, who is a basically a former Tehran mayor that was described as being very much like Trump, so bullshit and bluster, who knows what is real.
  171. u/Boys4Ever 1 1 day ago
Both sides act like children. The world economy would fall in the greatest depression the likes of which we've never seen before, and both countries would collapse economically. For Iran likely not much has changed but I do not see our lazy, entitled assess surviving 1929, again.
  172. u/jamesreyne 1 1 day ago
Is there anything you won’t both sides, or you really think Iran hasn’t been serious and intentional in everything they have done?

Iran should call out the emperor's new clothes! Maybe they will be the first to say, "hey! This guy is not serious and he can't negotiate for shit!" and then the rest of the world will snap out of this stupidity?

At this point, let’s just burn it all down. Keep the straight completely closed for at least two more years, piss off everyone. Global recession and massive equity pullbacks. Completely destroy Iran and hostile neighbors energy income. It would be ugly in the short term, but the world would eventually adapt without them. Demand destruction, alternative energy sources, major usage cutbacks. Decades of chanting death to America and allies, while trying to obtain nuclear weapons to achieve this goal. Meanwhile, they’re trying to play the victim card.

2025 onward could have been boring politics with a normal news cycle. But no, the Neanderthals of the US had to vote for this.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says the Strait of Hormuz could lose much of its strategic importance within two years, with underground pipelines potentially diverting 50–70% of the energy currently shipped through the chokepoint

Pakistan defense minster just said they are close to a deal with the US. I know people on Reddit hate Trump, but who do we trust between Iran and Pakistan?
  203. u/majordashes 1 1 day ago
Then why did I wake up to find a Bloomberg headline touting lower oil prices today (Tuesday) due to the possibility of a deal with Iran? What deal? Yesterday, Iran made it clear, they won’t even speak to Trump. So what “deal” could possibly be moving oil prices? 😳 Is the deal in the room with us?
