If you invested $10,000 in Snapchat $SNAP exactly 5 years ago, you would have $682 today 🚨 Not too bad 🫡

Has anyone had experience with trading options on futures?
  9. u/Strong_Owl_2766 1 3 days ago
I trade /ES options almost exclusively now. The tax treatment alone makes it worth it for me, 60/40 long term vs short term is hard to beat. Margin requirements are way more efficient than regular equities too, you can put on a strangle with a fraction of the buying power you'd need for SPX or something similar. Liquidity is solid during regular hours but gets dicey after the close, spreads widen out to something stupid. If you're used to SPY or QQQ fills you'll need to adjust your expectations a bit. The notional value is massive so position sizing matters way more, a 1% move in /ES is a much bigger dollar swing than you might think if you're coming from stocks.
  10. u/Efficient-Fudge-3515 1 3 days ago
Have you ever traded commodities, ags, and energy? That’s probably mostly what I was going to trade.
  11. u/yoktok_sisa 1 3 days ago
    I trade /es /nq / gc /cl

Enjoying a nice cup of coffee. Let’s stop complicating our strategies; go seek simplicity.

Well I spent my csp winnings from last week on a watch, but it was too expensive so chase locked my card. Didnt realize that until late at night in the middle of bogota. Ended up walking 20 km to get home...the kicker is when I called chase to figure this out, the lady said "thats amazing you bought x watch". I was like god damn im probably gon a get mugged or worse because of this situation, last thing I care about is the watch I may never see. Anyways, I STO 10x $910 MU CSPs and am expecting assignment this friday.

    Buy a plunger
  27. u/banditcleaner2 1 3 days ago
How'd you know that I needed that
  28. u/MostlyH2O 1 3 days ago
Because everyone does and nobody thinks about it until it's too late
  29. u/banditcleaner2 1 3 days ago
Well I bought one from Amazon and it was a terrible small piece of shit, I should’ve known better, but such is life I guess
  30. u/Terrible_Champion298 1 3 days ago
    They always take the plunger.
  31. u/banditcleaner2 1 3 days ago
Oh she took almost everything bro. Luckily I make a good income and have low expenses after this house and car are sold and I’ll have everything bought back with a month of savings only so it’s whatever. Hope she enjoyed the free ride because real life is gonna hit her hard

American Squid Games cancelled. Memory will now mun.
  33. u/MostlyH2O 1 3 days ago
    What happen?
  34. u/hv876 1 3 days ago
Netflix cancelled it. Haven’t found any credible news source saying why
  35. u/Terrible_Champion298 1 3 days ago
Culturally, I think American audiences are less tolerant of mass bloodshed movies. Those of us that are more tolerant have already seen the SG movies. But this isn’t a family night with the kids and popcorn movie. Seeing desperate Americans wiped out amass could become a cult classic. But those are happy accidents, not initial profit targets. Also, Netflix has had a publicized problem of losing customers for Season 2 offerings of series television and may feel middle range popularity movie sequels correlate to that circumstance.
  36. u/banditcleaner2 1 3 days ago
I doubt this is why it was cancelled. A better guess is that squid games is way too realistic nowadays with how the average consumer is getting constantly squeezed with inflation thanks to Mr. Mango's ego
  37. u/Waiting4Reccession 1 3 days ago
Big money doesnt want more luigi.
  38. u/eatpostlove 1 3 days ago
Probably for the best, it would have likely been not very good. Now what I still lament is the cancellation of the US version of Utopia with David Fincher at the helm.
  39. u/Waiting4Reccession 1 3 days ago
I just want them to cancel the current guy in charge of DC movies, he sucks balls.

Long dog walk, then breakfast at a favorite burrito shop, then bonsai club for a lecture on ficus, then home for a while, then out for an evening at a concert. It’s a full day. Might take a driverless Waymo to the concert.
  42. u/KarmicTractor 1 3 days ago
Presentation day of former ring in my partially demolished house. New floors in all 3 levels, new hardware, two new doors, new refrigerator to begin.
  43. u/hv876 1 3 days ago
Breaking down the house and rebuilding or just renovation?
  44. u/KarmicTractor 1 3 days ago
Very expensive renovation. House is thirty years old on a very desirable area. Very high ceilings, 5000+ square feet. Lots of curb appeal.
  45. u/MostlyH2O 1 3 days ago
Sounds like you might also need a new table
  46. u/KarmicTractor 1 3 days ago
Wife would pick the most ornate, heavy, easily damaged table and then Oliver would give it a quick christening and things would double plus ungood. Such is life.

Randam thought: Did CSP on MSFT for earning and made over $1000 in a week. But then, if I had shares, it would have been even bigger gain. I knew MSFT was a good buy back then. I focused on premium collection too much this past year. I need to remember wealth creation comes with stock appreciation.
  51. u/MostlyH2O 1 3 days ago
Yes as it turns out if you're short volatility you will under perform when there is volatility.

Hangover all day cuz my liver cant withstand daily painkillers and having a few drinks yesterday. Love being young in an old man’s body
  58. u/banditcleaner2 1 3 days ago
You best start acting a bit older or it’s gonna catch up to you fast
  59. u/CattleOk7674 1 3 days ago
I act like it already, I’m tryna see a pain doctor to find an alternative to painkillers, that’ll be a first step to a more normal Life
  60. u/banditcleaner2 1 2 days ago
What are the painkillers for? I'm 31 and when I get drunk and have a hangover the next day I usually just suffer through and don't even take ibuprofen or tylenol because I don't want more liver damage lol.
  61. u/CattleOk7674 1 2 days ago
Chronic pain from a scooter accident, been a year and a half that I have to take em everyday and hangovers have been hell since, even if i only drink 2/3 beers. Docs say my liver is working 24/7 so he’s struggling more when i drink. Got a f’ed up wrist and knee from the accident too, cant even run no more I’m 25 so I aint gonna cut drinking a few beers yet, I have hopes that a pain doc can figure something out (though painkillers work well for hangover headaches too lmao)

does anyone sell covered calls on VT?
  63. u/es_cl 1 3 days ago
Not worth it. Too low of volume and not enough DTEs to choose.  VT, VTI and VOO are for buy and hold. SPY and QQQ are for trading/options, and hold too if you want.
  64. u/Pharmacologist72 1 2 days ago
Look at the options chain and see if you can figure it out yourself.
  65. u/banditcleaner2 1 3 days ago
90 degrees and sunny here on the bike trail, but I found a cooled bathroom building about halfway to my goal so if I can make it 4 miles in this blistering heat I’ll be good

BREAKING: President Trump has been floating the idea privately to senior aides that he's willing to "walk away" from the Iran War without a nuclear deal should Iran fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, per WSJ.
  68. u/MaxCapacity 1 3 days ago
And still a 35% approval rating.  MAGA + bagholding = MAGholding?
  69. u/AdventurousPea6649 1 3 days ago
So he started the war for nothing? Now Iran can close that strait anytime

Nice, so we'll be right back to where we started after a couple months of blowing hundreds of millions of dollars, even tens of billions. Good job Trump.

Today's S&P 500 return during Trump 2.0 right where it was at this time in Trump 1.0. \+35% to +40% 🐻🔫
  76. u/MostEscape6543 1 2 days ago
Didn’t the S&P suck for the last two years of trump 1.0? Like tiny recession?
  77. u/hv876 1 2 days ago
2019 was gang busters. 2020 was Covid dump followed by pump. Don’t remember what ended up being the return for that year.
  78. u/MostEscape6543 1 2 days ago
Why did I think returns in his first term Sucked? Like a dip for a whole year. 2018?
  79. u/hv876 1 2 days ago
Yeah, 2018 was a tariff and rate hike induced dump. But 2017, 2019, and 2020 (I checked) were incredible years.
  80. u/MostEscape6543 1 2 days ago
Turns out I just don’t have any idea what SPY looked like
  81. u/MostEscape6543 1 2 days ago
I didn’t do very much pre 2019, and even then not really any reading until 2020/2021.
  82. u/WaitTwoSeconds 1 2 days ago
Most people just don't like Trump and jump to the conclusion that the stock market therefore must have sucked during his administration.

The current bull market is 3.8 years old. As we've noted many times, once a bull gets to three years old, they usually last many, many more years. This one isn't looking any different than history. Happy Sunday. Bulls on!
